As for tactile sensations, the smartphone lies quite confidently in the hand and is pleasant to the touch. However, under the cover itself we found a non-removable battery, which was very disappointing. Of course, now the era of all-metal cases has arrived, in which it is simply physically impossible to change the battery. But if we can still remove the cover of a smartphone, then we would like to be able to easily replace the battery. Still, technology lithium-ion batteries has not gone far, and over time they quite noticeably lose their capacity.

Also under the cover there are two slots for SIM cards and one slot for a memory card. At first this caused us a lot of joy; today you can’t find many devices that offer the use of two SIM cards and a memory card at the same time. But then we noticed that the size of the cards in the phone should be different, one card is micro format, and one is nano. This simply means that you will not be able to freely combine them if you suddenly need to use not only your cards, but also, for example, new SIM cards or cards of friends. We could not answer why the manufacturer would do this.

The design of the smartphone is determined by the metal edging of the case, which looks really very stylish, and the inscription “Huawei” at the bottom of the screen. By the way, such a decision is also very controversial. On the one hand, this removes unnecessary elements from the “face” of the smartphone, and on the other hand, they migrate to the display in virtual form, which is why they eat up quite a lot of useful space on the screen. Personally, we think that looking at a disproportionate screen can sometimes be quite annoying, especially in games.

In terms of functional elements in Huawei Y5, in principle, everything is quite standard. Earpiece, front camera, sensors and flash on the front, camera and dual flash on the back, speaker and micro-USB connector on the bottom, 3.5 mm jack and noise canceler on the top, power button and volume rocker with right side. Display

Huawei Y5 is equipped with a five-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a pixel density of 294 ppi. These are very, very worthy characteristics for a smartphone in 2017, and even as of 2018, this proposal remains very relevant and interesting. However, if technical specifications The screen is all very wonderful, but the IPS matrix itself is frustrating.

At first glance, it’s pretty good, but if you use the phone a little longer, you begin to notice very poor viewing angles for an IPS display; already at a fairly small angle, the image begins to invert, which is not typical for matrices of this type. The sound of Huawei Y5 can be described in one word – “normal”. Indeed, it doesn’t really stand out, but within its price range the smartphone sounds pretty good. You may not listen to music with its help, since it will not be able to convey all its beauty, but the phone is quite good for watching videos, making calls or setting an alarm clock.

The smartphone appears from a different angle if you listen to music in good headphones. In this case, it can already reproduce bright and complex compositions quite adequately. But the volume in the Y5 headphones is not too high. For our tastes, this volume is quite enough, but lovers of truly loud sound may be disappointed. However, the Y5 is not positioned as a music smartphone, so this also needs to be kept in mind.

As for the earpiece speaker, there are no complaints about it either. The interlocutor can be heard well, the voice is very recognizable, no extraneous noise or crackling was noticed. In general, the phone performs its “dialer” function at a decent level.

Cameras

Cameras in Huawei smartphones are always strong point, and Y5 was no exception of this rule. Considering the price of the device, the cameras here are installed at a fairly high level, and the photos of the Huawei Y5 2017 look really very good.
