Despite his almost 9 mm waist, he does not look fat. The back panel is made of pleasant to the touch soft semi-gloss plastic. Its surface is textured. There are practically no fingerprints on the lid. The panel itself does not creak, without backlash, does not bulge, although when removed it looks rather thin and fragile. So be careful not to break it. In the hand, the phone lies well, comfortably and reliably. The manufacturer offers us a choice of black, white and gold. In general, the design is very pleasant, although rather mediocre…

Connectors and controls

On the top side of the front is front-camera with flash, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and speaker. On the reverse side - the main camera and flash. Screen

The resolution of 1280x720 pixels is not that big by today's standards, but already familiar to budget models. The image detail is good, however, small fonts “break” a little – if you look closely, you can see a ladder of pixels.

The colors on the screen are bright and expressive, viewing angles are quite wide, but the brightness of the screen itself is a bit lacking (even on maximum settings). The light sensor allows the device to independently control the brightness of the display, but auto-tuning slows down a little.

When viewed from an angle, the contrast slightly changes, although not very strongly. Another disadvantage is that the image fades noticeably in the sun. This is most likely due to the rather average quality of the anti-reflective coating. There is no oleophobic coating here (or it is very weak!), so the screen quickly gets dirty, and the finger starts to slide poorly on it. But at the same time, the touch coating responds quickly and correctly to touch. A screen protector is included but not included.

cameras

Cameras take pictures very quickly, while not at the expense of quality! Quality for budget phone very worthy. Pictures have good sharpness, color and detail. True, in low light conditions, noticeable noise appears, and the contrast sharply decreases. A bright dual LED flash is installed on the main camera, and, ATTENTION - there is also a flash on the front camera! Which, moreover, is wide-angle. This is not often seen on budget models! The autofocus of the main camera is quite fast, but sometimes misses.

Sound

The sound is surprisingly good and clear, if not pushed to full blast. Both speakers (both spoken and external) are quite loud, the interlocutor can be heard clearly, without distortion, wheezing and incomprehensible sounds. However, they are dominated high frequencies, low values ​​are practically absent. If you close the external speaker with your finger, the sound disappears completely - this is a minus, although not serious.

Battery

The battery here is frankly weak! Only 2200 mAh ... However, do not be upset! This model does not consume much energy, and in addition, there are many scenarios and saving modes in the settings. This is enough for an average of 3.5 hours of games, in extreme cases, you can connect it, the connector allows, and in mixed mode, the smartphone will quite easily last a day without recharging. The battery itself is completely removable, it will take about 2.5 hours to fully charge it.

Software

Operating system Android 5.1 with the original user interface Emotion UI (EMUI) version 3.1 provides the user with easy operation and modern icon design. The main principle of this interface is the rejection of the main menu and a separate list of applications. All shortcuts are displayed on the desktop. The navigation buttons are made programmatically, and this takes up useful screen space and, which, it seems to me, is more critical, when some applications and games are running in full screen mode they will not be visible. Cons of Huawei Honor 5A
1. There is no earphone included. It is clear that music lovers will buy good expensive headphones, but most buyers will be satisfied with the cheapest models.
2. Android 5.1. Today, this version of the OS can be safely attributed to obsolete. Android 6.0 introduced the Adoptable storage feature, which allows you to turn the ROM and microSD card into a single unit, greatly increasing the amount of memory. Working with one section of memory is easier than with ROM and a memory card.
3. Screen brightness. The display is generally good. IPS matrix, diagonal 5 inches, resolution 1280x720, responsive screen. But the brightness of the phone for use on a sunny or cloudy day is clearly not enough. Even setting to the maximum does not save.
4. Long charging. It will take about three hours to charge the battery with the included charger.
5. No indicator of missed calls and SMS, incoming mail messages, social networks. It seems like a trifle, but a convenient thing.
