Quality product! :-) I’ve been using it for 4 months, no problems! Good screen, holds charge well, all games from the market work, 3G works great in Moscow, Wi-Fi is stable, USB is full!!! So far everything is good!

Comfortable to hold, Android 3.3. Android market, price compared to different iPads, 3G, the interface does not slow down like on a Samsung Galaxy tab.

good battery, loud music for a tablet,

USB, nice design, touchscreen is no worse than on the galaxy tab 10.1, 3G, Skype with video, a bunch of applications, everything is at a fairly understandable level.

    He's cool in almost everything

Compared to other tablets, the big advantage is the built-in HDMI/USB host ports, plus a port for microSDHC cards.

I’ve been using it for almost a year, every day for a long time, it’s never frozen, the sensor works great, Android has never let me down, everything is updated in a timely manner. Many useful functions, a pretty decent camera, good sound. It’s very good that the case is steel, I dropped it twice, but it didn’t matter) )

stable work. I've been using it for over a year and have no complaints. it's important to put good software and compatible programs and there will be no problems. quite a long operating time with proper configuration. It's great to watch movies and cartoons on it.

Fast, almost no bugs (after updating to ICS), the presence of a regular USB (reads both flash drives and portable HDDs, and also understands wireless mice and keyboards), a good screen, almost does not heat up.

    1. A little heavy, just because of the aluminum body
    2. There is a problem with Wi-Fi reception, the signal level is lower than that of competitors. And again, due to the aluminum case, which does not transmit a signal, but I would not say that it is very critical.
    3. The charging wire is short and barely reaches the table.
    4.Glossy screen,solved by sticking anti-glare film

It’s heavy! When will the flash drive be read separately, and not in the general heap? (Well, this is an Android jamb rather :-)) And a dialer won’t hurt! And when will 4.0 arrive?

I didn’t find a normal application for Android network printing, but, again, this is more of a complaint about the OS.

it's bad in the sun picture

The shortcomings are not significant, everything is easy to treat!!!

Short charging cord. And if the charger dies, you won’t find it in the city, you have to order it via the internet

    1) The main thing I want to warn you about, and why I’m actually writing this review, is VERY low sound quality when communicating via Skype and IP telephony!
But after many hours spent researching the problem, I came to the conclusion that this is not a problem. Acer Iconia, and Android Honeycomb. The problem should appear to some extent on all Android Honeycomb tablets. At least in version 3.2 (in version 3.0 everything is probably fine)
The microphone quality is normal. If you record sound using programs that can record it directly from a microphone, the sound is clear and high-quality, but all voice and video chat programs use a voice stream with automatic echo cancellation and sound level control. This is where the problems begin. The sound comes out like from a toilet and is very quiet and at a very high level

I didn’t find any as such, well, just little things. I didn’t immediately find where to switch the language on the keyboard) I didn’t immediately figure out how to transfer from a flash drive to a tablet, but again it was difficult for me. For some it’s not significant.

WI-FI is sometimes (!) glitchy, updates are also only via WI-FI, the camera on the front side is not very high quality, although this is not so important

TFT IPS- High quality liquid crystal matrix. It has wide viewing angles, one of the best indicators of color rendering quality and contrast among all those used in the production of displays for portable equipment.
Super AMOLED- if a regular AMOLED screen uses several layers, between which there is an air gap, then in Super AMOLED there is only one such touch layer without air gaps. This allows you to achieve greater screen brightness with the same power consumption.
Super AMOLED HD- differs from Super AMOLED in its higher resolution, thanks to which you can achieve 1280x720 pixels on a mobile phone screen.
Super AMOLED plus- this is a new generation of Super AMOLED displays, different from the previous one in use more subpixels in a regular RGB matrix. The new displays are 18% thinner and brighter than displays made using the old PenTile technology.
AMOLED- an improved version of OLED technology. The main advantages of the technology are significantly reduced power consumption, the ability to display a larger color gamut, reduced thickness and the ability of the display to bend slightly without the risk of breaking.
Retina-high pixel density display designed specifically for Apple technology. The pixel density of Retina displays is such that individual pixels are indistinguishable to the eye at a normal distance from the screen. This ensures the highest image detail and significantly improves the overall viewing experience.
Super Retina HD- the display is made using OLED technology. The pixel density is 458 PPI, the contrast reaches 1,000,000:1. The display has a wide color gamut and unsurpassed color accuracy. Pixels in the corners of the display are smoothed at the sub-pixel level, so edges are not distorted and appear smooth. The Super Retina HD reinforcing layer is 50% thicker. It will be harder to break the screen.
Super LCD is the next generation of LCD technology, it is characterized by improved characteristics compared to earlier LCD displays. The screens not only have wide viewing angles and better color reproduction, but also lower power consumption.
TFT- A common type of liquid crystal display. Using an active matrix controlled by thin-film transistors, it is possible to significantly increase the performance of the display, as well as the contrast and clarity of the image.
OLED- organic electroluminescent display. It consists of a special thin-film polymer that emits light when exposed to an electric field. This type of display has a large reserve of brightness and consumes very little energy.

All Acer had to do was present a fairly successful Acer model Iconia Tab A500 at the beginning of this year, the success was picked up by the upgraded version - Acer Iconia Tab A501 32Gb. Functionally and hardware-wise, they are like twins, but the new tablet has a 3G wireless module. What can a tablet running Android Honeycomb 3.0 do? We decided to test the device under normal conditions - in the office, at home and on the road. After all, it is “tablets” that cope with this very well, and how our subject behaved is in our review.

Once you’ve spent time with such a computer on the couch or on the road, you won’t want to use anything else: laptops have cluttered keyboards and no touch input, phones have too small a screen, and it’s not so comfortable to watch videos and Internet pages. Tablet devices fit perfectly in the hand and have big screen, use all possible communication standards, including mobile ones - 3G. Due to the fact that Acer Iconia Tab A501 The 3G module is present, there is every reason to call it an ultra-mobile tablet computer, the main thing is that the battery does not fail.

Acer Iconia Tab A501 Package Contents

The supply of the tablet is minimal, but the presence of a special cloth for removing fingerprints, as well as the fact that the tablet is transported in a special plastic case, is already a big plus. What is included in abundance are various printed materials: a safety brochure, brief instructions, warranty passport, quick start instructions, and so on.

Total in the box:

  • The tablet itself.
  • Charger.
  • USB cable.
  • Case.
  • Cloth for wiping.
  • Documentation and booklets.
Acer Iconia Tab A501 Package Contents

Inside the package Acer Iconia Tab A501 lies on top of two cardboard compartments - they contain instructions, a power supply and a sync cable. The power supply has a very short cable - 1 meter, so you most likely won’t be able to use the device comfortably and charge it at the same time.

Testing Acer Iconia Tab A501

The tablet is certainly heavy, 771 grams on our scales. The weight is impressive due to the aluminum body, but at the same time Acer Iconia Tab A501 It looks great, fits in the hand, and you can feel the quality of the assembly and selection of materials.

Acer Iconia Tab A501 on the scales

But holding it with one hand is inconvenient, the tablet is heavy, and even when using it at home, you need to constantly press it to yourself, as it always tries to slip out: the surfaces are smooth, and there is simply nothing to grab the device with your hand.

Acer Iconia Tab A501 Tablet PC

IN Acer Iconia Tab A501 version used Android 3.0.1, although it was expected that this model would differ from its predecessor not only in the presence of a 3G module, but also in a more recent version of the operating system. What's in new Android, optimized for tablets, it’s more convenient to work - no doubt. There are no problems with navigation, and due to decent performance, there are no lags in applications or switching between windows and desktops.

The device comes with several games already installed out of the box: Let's Golf, NFS Shift, Hero of Sparta. All of them are commercial versions, and to launch you will need to download the game components (on average they weigh 50-70 megabytes). For those who play racing or RPG on a tablet for the first time, you will have to get used to unusual controls - for example, the fact that you need to tilt the “tablet” to take turns in cars, and control the actions of the Spartan with your thumbs. The graphics, after modern 3D games on the desktop, can be called quite primitive, but on the road and on a 10" screen the artifacts are invisible; the dynamics and meaning of the game are much more important.

IN Acer Iconia Tab A501 the user gets all the benefits of the application Google- Availability Android Market makes it possible to use various applications, there is synchronization with the calendar and contacts, mail service Gmail.

Navigation is carried out using the Maps and Latitude applications. Unfortunately, during the entire testing process in the car and on the street, which was more than an hour, the tablet was not able to connect with satellites, and showed the road exclusively using signals from cell towers.

It's nice that the 3G module allows the user to also communicate with via SMS. True, as for the quality of the cellular connection, it constantly “jumps” - because of this, SMS do not arrive immediately and it takes a long time to download data. There was also a constant temporary connection disconnection.

The tablet's performance is excellent: by installing the required player with a set of codecs, you can watch any unconverted video, the main thing is that the file format is compatible with the player. Thus, the tablet can easily be turned into a multimedia station, especially since the HDMI output allows you to output video and sound to any compatible devices.

Unfortunately, Skype is for Acer Iconia Tab A501 Does not support video calls, only voice calls. And here Google Talk works great with video too. I was also pleased with the new build of Qip (Android Beta), which stretches across the entire screen of the tablet and allows you to comfortably correspond with users of the ICQ protocol. All running instant messengers hang a shortcut in the tray and use pop-up notifications with sound alerts.

Camera u Acer Iconia Tab A501 Although it’s 5 MPx, the quality of pictures and videos reaches 3 MPx, and even then with difficulty: color artifacts, picture distortions and noise - users, as always, are offered high resolution, and it doesn’t matter at all what’s inside this resolution.

Surfing the Internet - strong pointAcer Iconia Tab A501: you can zoom and navigate the page with your fingers, play videos and animations directly on the pages (you just need to install Adobe Flash Player). You can open several tabs in the browser, simultaneously play, listen to music, or watch videos - Acer Iconia Tab A501 will complete all tasks without any problems. But several times applications (such as Maps and Browser) closed at the most interesting place, due to the dampness of the Android tablet.

And finally, a very pleasant fact - when playing a video file Big Buck Bunny(.avi 480p) the tablet worked for 6 hours (with the Wi-Fi module turned off and the screen brightness at maximum). The playback itself did not cause any problems, but the sound in the speakers turned out to be so low that I had to put on headphones to make out the dialogue. The sound in headphones was also not very powerful.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 16Gb is one of the first tablets in Russia on Android platform Honeycomb. Entered the market after the sensational Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Motorola XOOM, Iconia Tab was announced relatively modestly, but quite surprised many with its quality and performance.

Distinctive feature of this device at least in the fact that the creators did not follow on the heels of Apple and began to copy appearance iPad. The design of the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is quite simple and pleasant. The front part is almost completely covered with glass, and the back part is covered with an aluminum plate. The latter, it should be noted, affected the weight of the device, which amounted to 765 g with dimensions of 260x177x13 mm.

The performance of the gadget can already be called traditional for tablets on Android based. Iconia Tab has a powerful dual-core NVIDIA Tegra2 processor, 1 GB operating memory, 16 or 32 GB internal memory with card support microSD memory H.C.

The TFT display with a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 1280x800 pixels can also be called classic for devices of this type. The presence of two cameras (2 and 5 million pixels) is another unsurprising, but pleasant detail.

The tablet's battery is typical: in economy mode it lasts for an average day.

A special feature of the gadget is the presence of a stereo output with sound quality like a CD. I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of two microphones with noise and echo suppression. The Dolby Mobile spatial sound reproduction system is another solid advantage of the device.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is priced quite reasonably and matches its capabilities. On average in Russia it is 15-16 thousand rubles (for a device with built-in memory of 16 GB).
