Tablet computer with phone. The best tablets with phone function. Selecting ZOOM

The ideal fan of modern information technologies keeps many devices with him, which he regularly replaces with new ones. Or let's imagine that this abstract user increases his collection by purchasing this or that gadget that he will probably never need. In this situation, producers would receive money two or even three times more often.

The eight 2-in-1 devices we tested did just the opposite. These gadgets combine the functionality of a laptop and a tablet. That is, by buying such hybrids, you get double or even triple benefits, since with a limited budget they can easily replace a desktop PC.

First of all, the difference in price is striking. All devices are divided into three segments: costing more than 140,000 rubles, from 140,000 to 80,000 rubles, and solutions from 80,000 rubles and below; This division is also evident in the rating - more affordable devices cope with tasks worse.

Microsoft Surface as a reference

What can you expect from hybrids? All tested devices run on pre-installed Windows 10 OS. Control is traditional (using a keyboard and mouse) or touch (using the display with your fingers or a stylus). Distinctive feature such hybrids is the ability to detach the keyboard, that is, not only use touch control in laptop mode, but also turn the device into full tablet.

Despite the fact that Windows OS allows you to work with numerous software, the number of applications for this platform is noticeably smaller compared to gadgets on Android or iPad. In other words, using a hybrid primarily as a tablet is not a good idea. These devices are more like laptops that can turn into tablets if necessary.

Expensive models in the upper price category - and - occupy a leading position in this regard. Unexpectedly, Porsche overtakes Surface even though Microsoft's model was the epitome of device innovation of this class and was therefore considered a kind of model.

New generation on Kaby Lake

All tested devices are impressive due to the fact that the manufacturers managed to place modern technologies, used in the production of laptops, on a minimal area. One of our selection criteria was that the devices run on a seventh generation Kaby Lake microarchitecture processor Intel Core i. All test participants are equipped with energy-efficient dual-core processors, but the benchmarks revealed some differences.

Yes, far ahead Core processor i7-7660U gone Surface. The test winner was not far behind. “On board” both devices have 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory. Overall showed very good performance Samsung Galaxy Book, HP Pro and the cheaper Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 510.

And here ASUS Transformer 3 does not reach them, despite the fact that it also has 8 GB “on board” random access memory. ASUS is overtaken in the ranking by two hybrids with 4 GB RAM: the fanless Huawei MateBook E and the Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720.

But hybrid tablets are far from the fastest laptops. For example, in the 3DMark Cloud Gate benchmark, the fastest laptop in our ranking scored three times higher than the winner of the hybrid test, and more than two times higher than the high-performance Surface Pro (see chart).

Of course, on the devices that take the top positions in the rankings, you can play real games. computer games, but they are not intended for games in the traditional sense - they lack discrete video card. But hybrids are great for gaming applications with touch controls, and they also play high-definition movies without any problems.

Docking stations that weigh as much as a hybrid

The main argument in favor of hybrids in their everyday use is their light weight. Without a keyboard, all devices weigh significantly less than a kilogram, and the Huawei MateBook E, weighing 632 g, was the lightest among the tested hybrids. However, without a keyboard, they cannot replace a laptop, and the keyboard in the form of a docking station sometimes doubles the weight.

In this regard, the Type Cover for Surface Pro compares favorably, which weighs only 300 g - however, to work on it, a solid fixed support is required, otherwise it will shake. Unfortunately, the rest of the test subjects, like the Surface, are not very stable.

Here, devices with a non-removable keyboard have a big advantage: they have good stability and you can safely work on them by placing them on your lap. A solid alternative to the test winner is the Surface Book, but it's not included in the test because it doesn't run on Kaby Lake.

We were a little disappointed by the battery life. We never saw the 13.5 hours announced by Microsoft for the Surface Pro: it seemed to be quite durable, but after eight and a half hours of web surfing, its battery was completely drained, as well as after nine hours of video playback.

And the manufacturer of the test winner resorted to a clever trick: a second battery was placed in the docking station. Without it, the measured endurance was the lowest among the subjects.

Great displays, few interfaces

But you can’t find fault with the test winner’s display. Among all our devices, it has the most best screen: 13.3-inch diagonal, 3200x1800 pixel resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and stunning brightness. The Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720 unexpectedly came second in this category, right behind which was the Surface Pro. Reservations should only be made for the HP Pro and Miix 510.

The disadvantage of hybrid tablets compared to “real” laptops or even PCs is the limited number of interfaces. Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth support all devices, but problems arise with USB. All devices except Surface Pro have universal USB Type-C, and therefore owners are forced to purchase one adapter or another.

In our testing, the equipment also played in favor of the Porsche Design Book One. Its main trump card is the docking station, on which, along with three USB ports A card reader is provided. The only thing missing is an LTE module.

The same goes for Surface. Microsoft plans to correct this flaw by releasing new model. HP Pro x2 and Samsung Galaxy Book with a built-in LTE module can, at the owner’s request, have constant Internet access.

Test results: one device does not do everything

“2 in 1” devices are primarily thin laptops that can be used as tablets on occasion. Thanks to Windows, they are ideal for working with office programs and leisure activities. Under certain circumstances, they can replace a PC for picky users. But due to the lack of discrete graphics, playing games will not be fun, and the small number of interfaces limits the possibility of retrofitting.

The best display, excellent performance, powerful equipment, exemplary portability - the Porsche Design Book One is a test leader. However, the “Porsche-style” price is immodest.

Updated 07/09/2018

If someone talks on a tablet as if on a mobile phone, then they look at him strangely or, at least, with a smile. But this is not the only point. Tablets into which SIM cards can be inserted have access to 3G and 4G Internet. Yes, and you can talk using a headset. So the popularity of such models with a mobile phone function will not surprise anyone. In this review we have collected best models with positive user reviews. We will honestly indicate the pros and cons of all models in the rating.

1st place – Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 SM-T555 (17-20 thousand rubles)

Popular Samsung device Galaxy Tab The A 9.7 SM-T555 is one of the best (or even the best) among similar models.

Characteristics:

  1. Screen with a diagonal of 9.7 inches (resolution 1024x768);
  2. Android OS (the model is in 5th place in the ranking of tablets on Andoid - details on).
  3. Processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz (4 cores);
  4. 2 GB RAM;
  5. 16 GB memory + card slot;
  6. 1 SIM card slot. There is support for LTE and 3G;
  7. 6000 mAh – battery capacity.

The device can be used as mobile phone. He makes the connection quickly and doesn’t lose it. At the same time, it has very definite advantages. First of all, this is a screen with bright, rich colors. Its resolution is small for such a diagonal, but pixels are not visible on the screen, the fonts do not hurt the eyes and no problems arise with it. In general, such a small resolution has a positive effect on performance and battery life: the tablet works quickly and for a long time, and does not drain the battery much. If you use the gadget for 2 hours a day, it will last for 4-5 days, which is cool. Partly due to the capacious battery, the tablet took 5th place in the review of reading tablets (details at).

Another plus is the assembly and attitude of the manufacturer. There was no carelessness during development, and this applies to all modules. For example, the speakers sound clear, the body is made perfectly. Although it is plastic, it is durable, without backlash. The system works stably without brakes and with each new Android update the speed of work increases.

The disadvantage is the screen backlight. It doesn't work well and doesn't accurately detect indoor/outdoor brightness, so it's best to adjust the brightness manually. You may also notice that the screen glass is weak, so we recommend using a protective film or composite glass.

Video review:

2nd place – Huawei MediaPad X2 (22,500 rubles)

And yes, in addition to the fact that the device supports 3G, 4G and allows you to communicate on the phone, it is also equipped with a cool HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor with 8 cores, and together with 3 GB of RAM, performance is guaranteed.

The screen here is 7 inches diagonal, and thanks to this you get the impression that this is just a big phone. The “telephone” frames around the screen only confirm these guesses. The manufacturer Huawei tried to combine two devices in this gadget – a tablet and a phone, and it turned out quite successfully. It is also in 2nd place in the ranking of tablets with a FullHD display (see the full review).

One of the first advantages is a cool, high-strength metal case, without backlashes and cracks. You can also highlight good autonomy. Despite the fact that the battery capacity is only 5000 mAh (which is not much compared to analogues), the device can easily withstand daylight hours and remains a little longer at night.

Next is the performance assigned to an 8-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and a video accelerator. You can definitely play modern 3D games, not to mention watching Full HD movies and surfing the Internet. But there is no reserve for the future. In a year or two, such hardware will be obsolete. Oh yes, we must not forget about two slots for SIM cards, and each of them supports the 4G standard, which is cool (not every phone has this). So yes, this tablet will 100% replace your mobile phone.

Flaws: Russian firmware support is poor. It has bugs, and updates are released extremely rarely. Cameras are usually bad in tablets, and this device is no exception.

Overall, the device is worth the money and deserves to take 2nd place in our TOP.

Video review:

3rd place – bb-mobile Techno 8.0 TOPOL’ LTE TQ863Q (11-12 thousand)

An inexpensive, but also less productive device that boasts high quality and the presence of a SIM card slot, which makes it not only a full-fledged tablet, but also a mobile phone. The screen diagonal of the device is 8 inches.

Options:

  1. Resolution 1280x800;
  2. 8 cores (MediaTek MT8783 CPU);
  3. 2 GB RAM;
  4. 4000 mAh battery;
  5. Supports 3G, 4G standards.

The model in the mid/low price segment is one of the best. If you are looking for something cheaper, but do not want to buy an outright “brick,” then this model is an excellent choice. It has a cool 8-inch screen, good (but far from TOP) hardware, and most importantly, support for 3g and 4g standards. The performance is unlikely to impress anyone, but you will definitely be able to play games, albeit not very demanding ones. And simply during operation, friezes and brakes are excluded.

Considering the positive reviews about this model, we put it in 3rd place in the rating.

Video review:

4th place – Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-T585 (19-25 thousand rubles)

One of many tablet computers, which is available in a wide range price range. In one store you can buy it for 19 thousand rubles, in another - for 25 thousand. Therefore, look for the store more carefully - this way you can save money. Considering the characteristics, the possible price of 19,000 rubles is really low.

Options:

  1. Screen diagonal 10.1 inches (Full HD resolution);
  2. Branded processor with a frequency of 1.6 GHz (8 cores);
  3. 2 GB RAM;
  4. 16 GB of memory and card slot;
  5. 7300 mAh battery;
  6. Supports 3G and 4G standards.

Pros:

  1. Design;
  2. The quality of materials used and assembly are excellent. There are no backlashes, creaks, or cracks;
  3. Fast wi-fi, 3g modules. Everything works flawlessly, the gadget maintains excellent communication and does not lose it, as often happens with other models. The device even picks up satellites instantly and holds it confidently;
  4. High performance and stable operation without freezes even when running demanding applications;
  5. A good battery that provides a couple of days of operation without recharging. True, it all depends on the degree of load.

Minuses:

  1. Inconvenient speaker placement. If you place the device on a table and turn on the video, the audibility will be low. All due to the poor placement of the speakers;
  2. Heavy weight, due to which the tablet is not always convenient to carry in a bag;
  3. Cameras are a C grade. They will not please you with high quality photos, but you can “scan” any text;
  4. Touch buttons without backlight;
  5. The screen needs protective film, because easily scratched and broken;
  6. The built-in memory of 16 GB is not enough. A flash drive is required.

Make an informed decision and pay attention to the disadvantages mentioned. Considering the high possible price of 25 thousand rubles (in some stores this is exactly what it costs), it’s worth looking for some other tablet. However, if you can find it for 19 thousand rubles, then you can safely buy it.

Video review:

5th place – bb-mobile Techno W8.0 3G Q800AY (8700-10000 rubles)

bb-mobile is a Russian brand that is quickly gaining the trust of customers. He makes relatively inexpensive but decent equipment. Techno W8.0 3G Q800AY turned out to be successful, as evidenced by positive comments.

Options:

  1. 4-core Intel Atom CPU;
  2. 2 GB RAM;
  3. 32 GB memory + flash drive slot;
  4. 8-inch diagonal screen with a resolution of 1280x800;
  5. SIM card slot, 3G support;
  6. 4000 mAh battery.

Despite the relatively weak hardware and lack of 4G support, this is still one of the best tablets with mobile phone functionality. Primarily due to reliability, quality of physical workmanship (no backlashes, cracks), connectors in the right places and with strong fixation. The device gives the impression of a monolithic device.

The screen is not easily soiled and, according to reviews, survives frequent falls without scratches. As for performance, “heavy” applications are difficult. However, the OS is fast, without any freezes or slowdowns. It is also convenient to surf the Internet, in social networks– there will definitely be no problems with this. Even HD movies are played back without any hitches.

Minuses:

  1. In sleep mode, it actively loses charge. The “reason” disappears in this mode. It is better to turn off the model completely if you want to save battery power. This is probably a software flaw (maybe it will be fixed soon);
  2. A 4000 mAh battery is a priori weak for a tablet with HD resolution and a large screen;
  3. The cameras are bad, but this is already the “standard”.

Considering the not very large number positive feedback, at this stage we can only put the device in 5th place.

Video review:

6-10 places

We will list other models that are worthy of 6-10 places in the table. These are all good gadgets, but with fewer reviews.

That's all. Remember that we compiled this rating based on reviews from real customers. So it is subjective.

The best tablets with phone function. Selecting ZOOM

Manufacturers do not always equip their tablets with a telephone module, and the presence of a SIM card slot in the device does not automatically mean that the device will operate in cell phone. Most often, a SIM card is needed to connect to the mobile Internet. Let's take any of the iPads that support a 3G network: you can only call them using FaceTime or other applications, which is not always convenient.

We looked at tablet PCs, which not only have the functions of a cell phone due to the presence of a GSM module, but also have small dimensions. Still, it’s more convenient to talk on a small tablet without a headset, although sometimes it looks a little strange from the outside. Also, all the models in our selection have a decent “filling” - after all, the device should replace a smartphone not only in terms of making phone calls.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0

The flagship tablet from Samsung runs on an eight-core Exynos 5433 processor with 3 GB of RAM, is equipped with a good main camera for a tablet with a resolution of 8 megapixels and a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. 32 GB of internal memory can be expanded - the tablet supports microSD cards up to 128 GB. The model also has a fingerprint scanner, and a 4000 mAh battery holds a charge for about two days with an average load. Wi-Fi-only and LTE versions are available for sale. In the second case, the tablet allows you not only to use mobile Internet, but make regular phone calls.

The thickness of the Galaxy Tab S2 is only 5.6 mm - it fits comfortably in the hand, as much as possible for an 8-inch device. In addition, its weight is only 265 g - for such a tablet (for example, the weight of a 7.9-inch iPad mini 4 larger ones, about 300 g). By the way, when holding the tablet with one hand, you need to take into account its thin near-screen frames: if you touch the glass with your thumb, the sensor stops responding to touches, which is good for calls, but not very convenient when surfing the Internet.

Huawei MediaPad T2 7.0 Pro

The hardware basis of the 7-inch is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz and an Adreno 405 graphics accelerator, which is decent for a tablet. The device has a 13-megapixel rear camera with a bright flash, capable of shooting video in Full-HD format, and a good selfie -camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels. The tablet is controlled by the Android 5.1 operating system under the proprietary EMUI 3.1 shell with a friendly interface. Fast work even in multitasking mode is guaranteed, although the tablet is not intended for serious games.

MediaPad T2 7.0 has full telephone functions: thanks to the 7-inch diagonal and conversational dynamics On the front panel, using the tablet is relatively convenient to make calls even without a headset. If you wish, you can purchase it in addition (the headset is not included in the delivery set): for example, the most inexpensive option- Huawei AM116 - will cost from 1222 rubles. The bezels around the screen are minimal, which provides additional convenience when operating with one hand or gestures. The weight of the tablet is only 250 g - it will not feel too heavy in your hand.

The tablet supports 4G LTE and the use of two SIM cards at once. But there is a separate slot for only one of them. The second combo slot can be used for both SIM cards and memory cards up to 128 GB.

ASUS ZenPad 8.0

A fairly powerful tablet PC: the 8-inch ZenPad Z581KL is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 MSM8956 processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, graphics by an Adreno 510 video processor, and ease of use by a large number of add-ons for Android from the proprietary Asus ZenUI shell. There is also a battery installed here, with which you can count on 11 hours of continuous operation. A pleasant picture is provided by an IPS display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Photos from the main 8 MP camera are not noisy or blurry thanks to ASUS's proprietary PixelMaster technology, which is responsible for image stabilization and clarity, and also improves light sensitivity.

The weight of the tablet is slightly larger than most in this selection - 320 g, so holding it with one hand during a conversation is possible, but for how long is another question. However, there is an earpiece on the front panel, while a headset is not included in the package. Most likely, the owner who loves to talk on the phone will also have to purchase a headset: the ASUS FoneMate branded accessory will cost from 1,290 rubles.

Lenovo Tab 3 Plus

New Lenovo Tab 3 Plus (model TB-8703X) is powered by operating system Android 6.0, and for speed and performance it is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with a frequency of 2 GHz, an Adreno-506 graphics accelerator and 3 GB of RAM. The tablet also boasts a bright 8-inch screen and IP52 protection against splashes of water and dust. An 8 MP rear camera with a bright LED flash and fast autofocus takes photos and videos of decent quality, while a 5 MP front camera ensures high-quality video communication and recognition of the owner in selfies.

The tablet can operate in cell phone mode and supports two SIM cards at once, but when calling from/to one of the numbers, the second one will be unavailable. The slot for one of the SIM cards is also combined with a slot for a memory card - the user will have to choose what is more important to him. The downside is its decent weight: 330 g is not critical for a tablet, but holding it to your ear for a long time with one hand can be uncomfortable.

Acer Iconia Talk S

This is a more budget-friendly tablet than other devices in our selection. Filling Acer Iconia Talk S is modest: the device runs on MediaTek MT8735 with a frequency of 1,300 GHz, a screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. also has very mediocre characteristics. At the same time, the rear camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels is unprecedentedly good for devices budget segment. From its characteristics - panoramic photography, face recognition, geotagging, digital zoom, fast autofocus and HDR shooting. Another nice bonus will be the package pre-installed on the device Microsoft Office Suite1. It is also possible to create two or more independent user accounts - the tablet can be used by several family members.

The model is easy to use for a conversation in classic mode without a headset thanks to its small 7” diagonal and the earpiece speaker on the front panel. Support for two SIM cards is carried out in Dual mode Standby: while you are talking on one number, the second one is switched off. Unlike other manufacturers, Acer does not produce original headphones or headsets; if necessary, you will have to make do with a non-“native” option.

Probably, ASUS decided that too much plastic was previously used in the design, and this is not very honorable, because the smartphone is one of the most expensive on the market. As a result, instead of a metal chassis and a plastic back panel, the new design used a body machined from a solid metal block. What is called unibody.

In general, there is a minimum of plastic in the Padfone Infinity - even the buttons and SIM card tray are made of metal. From an image point of view, this is the right decision - however, it has consequences, which we will discuss below.

The main feature of Padfone remains the same - the ability to quickly and conveniently transform a smartphone into a tablet. Unlike the design of the tube itself, appearance The docking station is virtually unchanged compared to the previous generation. The internal structure of the Padfone tablet part probably hasn't changed either.

The back panel of the docking station is finished with the same pleasant-to-touch plastic, familiar to us from the ASUS Nexus 7 model, only without the “perforated leather” texture.

The smartphone turned out to be quite thin - about 9 millimeters according to our measurements. But the length and width of the device are greater than those of many competitors. The Padfone Infinity doesn't feel that good in the hand; it's problematic to operate it with one hand. So even in smartphone mode, it's more of a small tablet than a phone. But the tube does not weigh that much, about 150 grams - 5-inch models are significantly heavier.

In the tablet state, due to the “humpbacked” design, the thickness of the Padfone Infinity is quite large - 17.5 millimeters at the thickest part, almost like an ultrabook. The weight of the docking station, together with the smartphone inserted into it, is close to 700 grams - for a 10-inch tablet this is a lot.

If you put the tablet on a table and try to work with it, the “hump” causes additional inconvenience - the device is unstable and sways a lot when you touch the sides of the display. The matter is further clouded by the fact that finding a suitable case-stand for a device with such an exotic design will be problematic. So you should immediately prepare yourself for the fact that when working with the tablet you will have to hold it in your hands.

The buttons on the Padfone Infinity are highlighted, with a pleasant bluish-white backlight

⇡ Technical specifications

Technical devices are improving, and often a tablet can be used as a phone, and not only with special programs like Skype. A very convenient option was the presence of SIM card slots in the device. Moreover, the prices for tablets with SIM cards are quite affordable and differ little from the prices for tablets without SIM cards. Already today there are devices on sale that accept two SIM cards at once, possibly from different mobile operators. This 2-in-1 tablet-phone is also called a “3G tablet-phone” and even a “tablet phone,” although the latter name is more reserved for smartphones with a large screen.

Which tablets can you make calls from?

Treasured "3G" in technical specifications A tablet doesn't mean it can be used as a mobile phone. Firstly, the 3G module must be built-in, and secondly, before you buy a 2 in 1 tablet phone, you need to make sure that it supports the GSM communication standard. All these options are usually indicated in the characteristics of the device itself, and if there is not enough information, it is better to clarify such nuances with the seller. It must be said that most often the GSM module is combined with a 3G module, but be careful.
It is most convenient to use a tablet with a 7-inch screen as a mobile phone due to its relatively small size, and we will focus on this diagonal. We will also choose inexpensive tablets with two SIM cards for our review. These models are new to the consumer market, use Android OS and connect to any mobile operator. You can make calls and use the Internet connection on such 3G tablets through regular SIM cards, otherwise called Mini-SIM.

Two-in-one tablet phones with two SIM cards

Not long ago, the Russian trading company Explay presented its Leader model. Inexpensive device in black and white tones with enough powerful processor with a frequency of 1300 MHz, it has 2 cores and 512 MB of RAM. It will not be suitable for large games, but for working in applications, taking decent photos, performing navigation tasks and, of course, making calls, it will be quite appropriate. The price of this tablet with 2 SIM cards is about 6,000 rubles.

Last summer, another Russian company Nexus began selling two models at once budget tablets Bliss Pad M7021 and Bliss Pad M7022. Compact size, two processor cores, two cameras with flash, bright screen, GPS module, enough powerful batteries along with two SIM cards and a low price have already made these new products popular. You can buy 2 in 1 tablet phones for approximately 5,000 rubles and 5,500 rubles, respectively.

A model from the German brand Telefunken, 3G tablet TF-MID707G, costs about 7,000 rubles and differs good quality. Slim body; enviable power that allows you to play modern games without freezing; two cameras, high-capacity battery. Two SIM card slots make it possible to successfully use the tablet as a phone.
