Mobile phone Highscreen Power Five Evo. Highscreen Power Five Evo - Reviews and detailed technical specifications Highscreen power five evo 16 GB gray

The new Highscreen Power Five EVO smartphone has everything I need: an 8-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of ROM, a 5-inch IPS screen, 4G support, two cameras (13 MP and 5 MP) and a capacious battery. 5,000 mAh. At the same time, the phone is inexpensive - 11,990 rubles. And this is perhaps the most important thing. Let's see how good one of the most budget and simple "five thousand" models is. I tried to find cons, but there are none yet. However, I will be testing the phone for a long time, and I will probably dig up more.

Previously I tested a more advanced model. This review can be seen here. Highscreen Power Five EVO is simpler (the smartphone has Android installed without any frills, IPS screen, not AMOLED), but cheaper by four thousand rubles.

Pros of Highscreen Power Five EVO
1. Price. If you don’t take into account ordering from the “Chinese” via the Internet, our model under consideration has few competitors.
2. Battery. During a test with continuous online video playback, the smartphone lasted 11-12 hours. This is an excellent result, but in fairness it is worth noting that the Highscreen Power Five Pro, with the same 5,000 mAh, lasts almost twice as long due to a less power-hungry processor and AMOLED screen.
3. Screen. It uses a 5-inch IPS display (1280x720) with Asahi Glass Dragontrail protective glass (they say this glass is no worse than the vaunted Gorilla Glass 3) and oleophobic coating. By default, a protective film is glued to the screen. The kit also includes another protective film.
In the sun, the display has almost no glare; everything is clearly visible even at mid-brightness. The resolution is not the highest, but it ensures long-term operation of the smartphone (for me, this is more important than FullHD pictures).
4. Two SIM cards. If I'm not mistaken, both modules (microSIM) support operation in 4G mode. There is only one radio module, so the SIM cards work in alternating mode. If you talk on one SIM card, the other will not be available. In rest mode, both SIM cards are available.
5. Memory. At first, you have about 11.2 GB of ROM available to you. After updating all pre-installed programs, you will be left with 9.7 GB of ROM. If not enough, you can use memory cards up to 256 GB (SDHC). Applications can be transferred to the memory card and back without any problems (no extra manipulations are needed).
6. OTG support. You can charge other smartphones and tablets, connect any flash drives (if you have a card reader) and USB flash drives. Everything works by default, you don’t need to get root rights. The only thing is that there is no OTG cable included.
7. Pure Android. There are no additional (and often unnecessary for the user) programs on the smartphone.
8. Good GPS. The day was cloudy, but after two minutes the phone connected to 11-12 satellites (20 satellites were detected), and the measurement accuracy was 3-5 meters. There is built-in support for GLONASS.

Cons of Highscreen Power Five EVO
1. Sound. Volume and sound quality could be better.
2. Mediocre cameras. In the coming weeks I will often take pictures with my phone and then I will show sample photos. But in low light conditions, the main camera does not always focus correctly. Perhaps this will be fixed in the next firmware. In settings front camera The maximum resolution is indicated as 3 megapixels, although judging by the pictures it is 6 megapixels. The description says 5 megapixels.
3. Secondary. Some Internet users indicate that the main disadvantage is that Highscreen Power Five EVO is an exact copy Chinese smartphone Ramos M7, released late last year. I don't see anything wrong with this copying. We are dealing with a budget model, and in this segment of the market there are a lot of almost identical phones that are sold under different brands.

Battery and operating time
Battery capacity - 5,000 mAh (3.8 V). The battery is not removable.
When watching online videos on YouTube, the smartphone lasted 11-12 hours (brightness and volume in the middle, listening through headphones, mobile Internet and Bluetooth turned off). Discharged approximately 8-9% per hour.
Full charging time from the standard charger (2 A) when turned off is 2.5 hours.
The smartphone's turn-on time is 40-45 seconds.

More than a year ago, Highscreen released the most successful long-lived smartphone, Power Five (review), which still remains one of the best gadgets with a large battery on the market. Building on the success of such a model is not easy, but Highscreen tried to do it with the “evolutionary” Power Five Evo. The device has improved in many ways (in particular, the much-criticized AMOLED panel is gone; IPS is now used) and has retained its main feature– 5000 mAh battery. Let's see if Highscreen Power Five Evo has become a worthy successor to the Power Five traditions. The new product costs 11,990 rubles (3,000 rubles cheaper than its predecessor).

Technical characteristics of Higscreen Power Five Evo:

  • Network: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G/HSPA+ (900/2100 MHz), 4G/LTE (Band 1, 3, 7, 20, 38, 40)
  • Platform: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Display: 5", 1280x720 pixels, 294 ppi, Plastic AMOLED, IPS, 5-point multi-touch
  • Camera: 13 MP, autofocus, f/2.2, flash, video recording 1080p@30fps
  • Front camera: 5 MP, f/2.8
  • Processor: 8 cores, 1.3 GHz, 64 bits, MediaTek MT6753
  • Graphics chip: Mali-T720
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Internal memory: 16 GB
  • Memory card: microSDHC
  • GPS, GLONASS
  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • microUSB
  • Two micro-SIM slots
  • Battery: non-removable, 5000 mAh
  • Dimensions: 142x70x9.6 mm
  • Weight: 168 g

Equipment and design

We received the Power Five Evo without a box or accessories, but we know that in addition to the phone, buyers also receive a power supply, USB cable, headphones, protective glass and a set of documentation. The device is available in four colors (white, grey, brown and gold), we got the last option. The front panel in all modifications is black; there is no “pseudo-frameless” appearance, as in the first Power Five, in this model.

Highscreen Power Five Evo is an all-plastic smartphone. The sides are made of metal-like plastic, and the removable back cover– made of rough plastic that is pleasant to the touch. Much less rough than, for example, Flash 2 (review), therefore perceived as soft and gentle. Cool cover. Underneath it is a non-removable battery, a pair of micro-SIM slots and a microSD tray between them (according to Chinese tradition, it is marked as T, that is, TFlash). Our sample battery has the name original model: Ramos M7. Quite unexpected, since most Highscreen Power smartphones are made by Gionee. There are also speaker holes on the cover, with two tubercles struggling to block them. They are quite sharp, I almost cut myself once.

There are no complaints about the assembly of the device; it is perceived as completely monolithic. Over time, the lid will most likely no longer fit as tightly as it did in the first days of use, but this is a necessary evil when using removable lids. Ergonomics are not ideal, but this is the price of using a 5000 mAh battery. However, it could have been much worse: the light weight for a long-liver (168 g), slightly rounded ends and the good location of the keys on the side ends largely save the situation.

One of the main disadvantages of the Highscreen Power Five was the 5" AMOLED screen with an easily distinguishable diagonal grid and inversions at slight angles. The Power Five Evo has none of this, since Ramos used an IPS display in this smartphone (the same resolution - HD). Typical inexpensive panel of this type: good brightness, excellent viewing angles, temperature changes under diagonal tilts (very noticeable only on a dark background) and slightly cool color rendering. Five-point multi-touch, no oleophobic coating. There are three touch keys under the screen. The “back” arrow is directed to the right, for which I want to strongly curse the designer Ramos.

Software

Highscreen Power Five Evo is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with virtually no changes from the manufacturer. Some icons have been redrawn here, and a standard set of MTK-background functions has been added (Bes sound enhancements, MiraVision screen image correction system, power saving in standby mode). The translation into Russian is normal, no glitches or crashes of standard applications were noticed during testing (except that there was some nonsense in the battery settings when you first turned it on). In my opinion, stock firmware with minor modifications, it’s better than other Chinese fantasies (I’ve never used the Ramos shell, so I can’t compare it specifically with it).

There is support for over-the-air updates. Highscreen has already released one that fixes some broken features and also removes features that didn't work. The utility for installing updates has also been updated (combo!).

Pre-installed applications

Camera

The Highscreen Power Five Evo has a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is proposed to shoot using a standard application without changes from the creators of the device. The camera boasts that it does not mix small details into a mess (tree branches, for example, they always remain separate branches), making the most of the camera’s resolution. However, errors with white balance are common, and pictures often turn out slightly underexposed. In general, the quality of the photos is average. Explore examples:

The 5-megapixel camera with f/2.8 aperture is perfect for video calling, and selfies with it are quite decent. However, there is nothing outstanding about it. The video on the main camera is recorded in 1080p@30fps; when shooting for the first time, do not forget to change the quality to “Best”. The sound is recorded with high quality, you can hear both the speaker and the noise around. Digital stabilization compensates for shaking, causing frame fragments to “float” relative to each other. Autofocus does not work during video shooting; changing the focal length is entirely manual.

Performance and tests

One of the most noticeable improvements to the Highscreen Power Five Evo is its more powerful hardware. The smartphone uses an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset with a frequency of 1.3 GHz and includes a Mali-T720 video accelerator. Volume random access memory is 2 GB, built-in – 16 GB. 1.4 GB and 11.15 GB are available to the user, respectively. There is nothing new for us in such a combination, and its behavior in games is quite predictable. Asphalt Extreme comes with comfortable fps values even on improved graphics, but in Unkilled it’s better not to set the maximum speed – low frequency frames will, if not interfere with the game, then definitely be an eyesore. Simpler games, like Hungry Shark World or Dan the Man in general, run perfectly. The screen resolution, let me remind you, is 720p.

Running AnTuTu three times did not reveal any performance degradation, but the longer GFXBench test showed it. This means that the chipset tries to maintain good frequencies for a long time, but then it finally gives up. This is due to heating. Despite the plastic case, the top part becomes hot under load and is unpleasant to hold. What burns the most is the glass that protects the camera and flash (it is single here - apparently, Ramos wanted to portray something like a double iPhone cameras 7 Plus).

Show video
Asphalt Extreme

As for autonomy - the main feature of the Power Five Evo - I have to admit that Ramos is not Gionee or JSR. The Chinese tablet manufacturer does not have such an ability to squeeze the maximum out of a battery, making the smartphone work for a week without recharging. Therefore, in video mode, the smartphone discharged not in 20 hours, like its predecessor, but twice as fast. In Asphalt Extreme, the discharge was 17% in an hour, which means you can play on a single charge for up to 6 hours. That's also less than the Power Five. You can blame the IPS screen for everything, but Gionee can work wonders with IPS (remember 14.5 hours of video at 4000 mAh for the Highscreen Power Four).

And yet I am too critical. 10 hours of video and 6 hours of games - that's good results. This is much better than the average 3000 mAh budget phone. The Power Five Evo definitely stands out from its competitors with its good battery life, but it is very far from the Power Five records. The Evo can easily handle two days of active use (6-7 hours of screen time), but you can’t count on recharging 1-2 times a week.

conclusions

Highscreen Power Five Evo is a rather strange development Power models Five. The evolutionary process followed the path of catagenesis: the pleasant AmigoUI shell was replaced by stock Android (which, of course, is also good), the camera did not shoot much better with the increased resolution, and the battery life began to be noticeably worse (although it is still better than that of models). short-lived). But we must not forget that the price has become lower, the model costs only 11,990 rubles. At the same time, it offers an eight-core processor and a unique body that is pleasant to the touch. The Power Five Evo is a good budget phone, but if you need maximum autonomy, take a closer look at last year's model.

Millions of smartphone owners around the world are literally going crazy as they go hunting for Pokemon. Moreover, the game managed to become very popular even in those countries where it had not yet been officially released. Pokemon Go managed to get gamers off the couch and send them on long walks and exploring the city. Favorite characters have gone beyond the smartphone screen, combining real and virtual world. It’s curious, but around the same time, the number of comments on our website increased in which users complained about the battery draining quickly. It is not surprising considering that any Pokemon raid puts a lot of stress on the smartphone, activating the navigation, communication module, screen and camera in constant operation.

Considering that most smartphones are limited by a 2000-2500 mAh battery, the situation for hunters is not rosy. The more relevant models with larger batteries become; Highscreen now feels confident in this segment, releasing two lines of smartphones with batteries from 5000 mAh and above. Not long ago they took the next step by launching sales of Highscreen Power Five EVO. At the same time, when mass raids for rare Pokemon and mass installations of the Pokemon Go application began in Russia. Coincidence? Don't think.

Highscreen Power Five EVO review

Appearance

The appearance of the series is clearly recognizable in the Highscreen Power Five EVO; the manufacturer himself calls the changes a simplification. We will disagree here, the update was beneficial. It looks more interesting and unusual.

Instead of the usual glossy finish, the lid now has a textured finish reminiscent of OnePlus' lids. Such a rough coating is more tactile and the smartphone does not try to slip out of your hands.

There are four different color options, so there is plenty to choose from. There will be solutions for male and female audiences.

Despite the capacious battery, it was able to fit into a compact case. Overall dimensions are 70x142x9.6 mm with a weight of 168 grams.

The side edge, unlike the original, is now made of plastic, painted to look like metal. The mechanical buttons on the end are in the same color.

The power button of the Highscreen Power Five EVO is on the right side, and the separate volume rocker is on the left side.

MicroUSB connector on the bottom, audio jack on the top.

The front side of the smartphone is covered with protective glass. There is a small protrusion along the screen that raises it when placed back up.

On the top frame there is a speaker grille and a front camera lens. On the opposite three touch buttons without backlight.

All elements are within easy reach. Ergonomics without any complaints.

The main camera block protrudes slightly above the surface of the body. There is an LED flash next to the lens.

The Highscreen Power Five EVO case is collapsible. Underneath is a non-removable battery, a pair of SIM slots and a card slot. micro memory SD. Hot swap supported.

The case is assembled perfectly. All parts fit perfectly together. The lid does not press down under finger pressure. The smartphone does not look budget.

Screen

Another difference from the simple Power Five was the abandonment of AMOLED. We also like this solution; the IPS matrix produces natural colors. Screen 5 inches with HD resolution. Viewing angles are maximum.

The detail is sufficient for comfortable reading and catching Pokemon on the street in real picture display mode. The sensor is sensitive. Included with the smartphone, the user will receive a protective glass with an oleophobic coating.

Filling

The eight-core is responsible for the operation of Highscreen Power Five EVO MediaTek processor MT6753. Graphics processing is carried out by Mali-T720. On board there are 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.

The performance level is enough to quickly run not only Pokemon Go, but also games such as World of Tanks Blitz. Switching between applications is fast. Does not heat up during prolonged use.

Connection

Another important feature that is necessary for a long and successful raid is support high speed internet. Highscreen Power Five EVO can work in LTE networks with any SIM cards Russian operators. Transfer speed is high. There is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

And, of course, you can’t do without navigation. The GPS in this phone is characterized by high positioning accuracy and short cold start time.

Cameras

The main camera of the Highscreen Power Five EVO has a 13 MP matrix with autofocus and flash. The quality of images during the day is excellent. High detail and colors close to natural. There is HDR and manual settings. It is quite suitable for use not only in conjunction with Pokemon Go, but also as a replacement for a simple digital camera.

Autonomy

Behind autonomous operation Highscreen Power Five EVO has a 5000 mAh battery. In continuous play mode in Pokemon Go with all modules activated, it lasts about 6 hours.

While your iPhone and Samsung friends are frantically looking for a charging outlet during a raid, you can continue hunting for rare Pokemon for at least twice as long without worrying about the battery. In mixed mode without games, charging will be required once every 1.5-2 days.

Software

Operating room installed Google system Android 5.1 without additional partner software and games. It works quickly, without lags or freezes.

Results for Highscreen Power Five EVO

Highscreen Power Five EVO is an excellent option for those who are tired of constantly depending on the ability to recharge their smartphone during the day. With this smartphone you can safely go for long walks while actively searching for Pokemon. Clearly working navigation, good display and main camera, fast access to the network, nice appearance, capacious battery. At the same time, the price for all this pleasure is lower than competitors’ offers. There were no failures or problems recorded.

Smartphone manufacturers seem to have changed direction, and now the race is on milliamp hours, that is, power and battery life, rather than gigabytes and inches. This is not at all surprising, given the fact that Apple products, with which many brands secretly compete, are distinguished by their insignificant battery power. At the latest presentation, Apple presented a smartphone with even less battery power. Branded and young companies are trying to create a gadget that will be less dependent on battery capacity.

That is why it is interesting to know reviews about Highscreen Power Five Evo. This phone was invented in Russia, but is made in China. It has not yet become a popular trend, but has earned a good rating from many experts and ordinary users. The smartphone quickly and easily sells out in mobile stores because it combines everything that gadget buyers really value. This includes price, performance, and ease of communication with service center and consultants.

What are the reviews from Highscreen Power Five Evo owners? What do users like about a smartphone and what don’t? Which features are especially useful?

"Russian Chinese". Secrets of production

The Russian company is the developer of the smartphone. In addition to it, DVRs and accessories for gadgets are also presented. The peculiarity of the developers is to offer the buyer a balance of the latest technologies and reasonable prices, while high quality the product itself and service. The company has its own website and online store, Highscreen regularly reports news about itself and promotions. Actual and legal addresses companies are registered in Moscow.

Highscreen Power Five Evo is which, as mentioned, is produced in China. There was no widespread advertising, but he found his buyer. Or buyers found it. Among the latter, by the way, there are different reviews and ratings. And yet they agree on one thing: this is a very good option among other budget employees.

Let's move on to reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone.

Powerful budget employee

Before you decide to buy, you need to decide what characteristics a smartphone should have, what functions and capabilities you need. What does Highscreen Power Five Evo offer:

  1. Powerful battery.
  2. A set of standard options.
  3. Affordable price.

The set is standard, but still quite relevant at any time and for many users. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Rage Evo 16 GB indicate that the smartphone very successfully combines and combines all these indicators.

If you need the phone mainly for communication, using the Internet, taking notes, and other things, then the model is perfect for these tasks. The phone is light, it is comfortable to hold in your hand during a long conversation, the screen gives a good image, and many applications and files fit into the smartphone. You don’t have to worry about recharging the gadget for up to two days, although private tests sometimes show performance for up to a day and a half. But this is also an excellent result for the Highscreen Power Five Evo model. A good option for those who often refuse in situations where it is not possible to use a charging cable, as well as for people who often travel and go on business trips.

However, if you are a traveler or active camper and are hoping to use the Highscreen Power Five Evo as a portable camera, this may not be the right decision. Of course, the camera in the smartphone is good, but you should not expect from it high-precision pictures with excellent color reproduction, which are provided by representatives of expensive smartphone brands and average quality photo-video equipment. about Highscreen Power Five Evo suggests that the gadget’s camera features are quite satisfactory for most buyers.

The first sales price was set at twelve thousand rubles, but then it began to decline. As a result, the price tag dropped to almost one thousand rubles. Overall, the value is amazing. Therefore, reviews from owners of Highscreen Power Five Evo often talk about this.

Packaging and equipment

The smartphone comes in the usual convenient box with a picture of the Highscreen Power Five Evo gadget itself. Included are USB cable, charging, manual and warranty card, as well as protective glass. Previously, for example, the Highscreen Power Rage Evo smartphone included, among other things, an OTG cable, a silicone case and a special cloth for cleaning the screen.

Highscreen Power Rage Evo had a metal body, while Evo is made of plastic. The smartphone has become lighter, and its price has also decreased. But buyers who trust a metal body will most likely not choose the Highscreen Power Five Evo, although the model’s characteristics are very valuable. Plastic breaks and scratches easily.

The smartphone is equipped with proximity and light sensors - this is, however, a standard set.

Manufacturers recommend that you stop trying to get a non-removable battery. This can cause harm to health, and the equipment will fail, and it will be impossible to return the gadget for warranty service. The center’s specialists and expertise will confirm that there was interference by the buyer, which automatically removes the smartphone from warranty service.

Ergonomics, screen and other characteristics

As reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo 16 GB confirm, the smartphone is very, very popular among buyers. As they say, all the positive features are visible.

It has standard definition for budget smartphones. Pixel density - 270-320. Small diagonal. True, many see this as a significant convenience and advantage of the model. You can use your smartphone while holding it in one hand. Reaching into corners, typing with your thumb, and so on. This feature is important for those who solve many work tasks in parallel, including with a smartphone. For this category of users, not only the functional characteristics of the gadget are important, but also its size, weight, and dimensions. And many buyers, as a rule, are ready to give up models with a large screen in order to make it more convenient to use.

The battery consumes little energy, which is appreciated by users who like to play demanding games on their smartphone. modern games, watch a video or have a long conversation. The function is also useful for those who like the screen to remain on for a long time (not going into standby mode), but it is the standby mode that consumes the most energy and battery power. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo brown smartphone say that this is an ideal option for those who want to save money on a gadget, but get the most out of it. This option will meet user expectations.

Despite the fact that the Highscreen Power Five Evo 5 has good reviews, not everyone likes the eight-core processor, although it works quickly and clearly (“Android 5.1”). Some buyers feel that it is outdated and definitely needs an update as soon as possible. For example, in reviews there is an opinion that the shortcuts are beautiful, and when you open them, you find the simplest design of the fourth Android. All updates, simply put, are superficial. And this is often the case in reviews from owners of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone.

Users do not understand how this can be allowed in a model equipped with powerful battery and a good camera, and they offer to install a minimal shell of a standard design. However, this opinion does not prevent you from using all the capabilities of Android in Highscreen Power Five Evo and all the functions of the platform. The appearance of the icons and slightly outdated interface do not reduce the functionality of the device. These characteristics in reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo usually do not cause admiration; users consider their set in such a budget phone to be very convenient.

The smartphone works quickly, there are two gigabytes of RAM inside.

Housing design and battery

Typically, users write that they are pleased with the operation and performance of the smartphone. However, the build quality of the gadget is often noted. Reviews Highscreen Power Five Evo is called the most interesting model in the budget segment, but powerful smartphones, due to autonomy and functionality.

Anyone familiar with the manufacturer's products can assume that Highscreen Power Five Evo is a continuation of its predecessor. But this is a completely new device with good battery and better performance.

The body of the smartphone is made of plastic, including the edging. However, the material is durable, and you can verify this if you remove the cover and try to bend it slightly diagonally. The lid is flexible and requires force to break it. However, you should not test the shock-resistant properties of a smartphone in practice; cracks and chips may well appear. After all, the gadget is not positioned as shock-resistant and super-strong. By the way, the buttons are also made of plastic. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone do not mention this parameter as a disadvantage. Most users who need shock-resistant smartphones understand that in this case, looking at a regular the lineup State employees are not recommended - you won’t find anything worthwhile.

Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo brown note that its thickness is slightly less than ten millimeters, its weight is small - 168 g. The design is pleasant, including due to the rounded panel. A thirteen-megapixel camera and a single-color LED flash built into the surface. In the center of the lid there is a chrome-plated logo of the manufacturer, which, as reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo white note, makes the gadget much more interesting.

The battery is not removable, and this stops some people from buying it. Users choose smartphones with a removable battery so that later, when it becomes unusable, they can replace it. Although today's smartphones rarely survive until the battery becomes unusable. As a rule, by that time the phone itself has long been sent, if not to the trash heap, then certainly not used constantly and for its intended purpose. Moreover, even a non-removable battery today can be replaced in a specialized service.

Above the battery are slots for SIM cards (two of them) and memory cards. Flash card - a maximum of one hundred twenty-eight gigabytes, its memory is sixteen gigabytes. The conversational speakers are very good. Although the sound speaker on the lid is of average quality. On the top edge there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Reviews of Highscreen Power Five Evo gray especially note the presence of a radio.

The lower soft keys are not individually illuminated, but are quite visible on their own, including in the dark. At the bottom there is also a microphone and a charging socket. On the left are the volume control buttons, on the right is the power button, also known as the lock button. There are sensors on the front surface, automatic brightness level adjustment, a notification indicator and speaker. There is enough volume; in extreme cases (for music in nature, on a picnic, etc.) you can purchase additional speakers. The screen is 1280 x 720, glare from the sun is almost invisible, it reproduces colors well, but this is the Achilles heel of the smartphone, according to buyers. Because of this, the Highscreen Power Five Evo model is quite energy-intensive.

Smartphone camera and sound

The reviews from Highscreen Power Rage Evo owners about the camera are interesting. Photos come out well and focus is fast with the HDR setting working well. There is electronic stabilization. There are options for “Voice recording”, “Face detection”, “Smile”, “Auto scene detection” and other settings. There are various profiles, such as Live Photos, Motion and Smile Tracking, Panorama and Multi-Angle View. Therefore, Highscreen Power Five Evo is considered ideally balanced in terms of picture and performance. There are GPS and Glonass systems. Sound profiles have been added to the notification shade.

The smartphone is available in three body colors: gray, brown and gold. It is made very reliably, does not creak anything and fits well in the hand. The style is strict and beautiful.

The lid has a matte textured finish. This makes it difficult for the gadget to slip out of your hands and creates a comfortable feeling for the palm. Some users consider the design unsuccessful, modest and the most ordinary. However, others in the model appreciate just this. Indeed, the smartphone is neither pretentious nor overly simplified. By appearance Very reminiscent of early iPhones. Especially the side inserts. But this is not a copy in the full sense - the smartphone has its own design, developed specifically for this model.

Some buyers sometimes criticize the sound transmission. Music sounds with some distortion, background bass appears and high purities are smoothed out. The sound is not loud, but for many this is enough.

The phone loads applications quickly. This is also noted by the reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone from customers and specialists, experts and consultants in hardware stores.

What are the disadvantages

The built-in battery is a feature and disappointment of many modern smartphone models, both budget and premium segments. This is how some users characterize the capabilities of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone “engine”. Although it’s still unfair to say, given the reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo lte, that this is a smartphone from an unsuccessful series.

There is also criticism of the headphones that come with the kit. Indeed, they are inexpensive and low quality. These won't last long. And the sound quality deteriorates. Some users believe that the manufacturer could not include the headset at all, which will still have to be replaced very soon. And users like the thickness of the cable, although it is also not made of expensive materials.

The manufacturer includes a smartphone in the packaging box. Users consider it a good gift. As reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo gold note, this model comes with an adhesive film, but, as buyers suggest, the display does not have a coating that is good at repelling grease from the touch screen.

The smartphone is very sensitive and responds instantly to pressure. He can do fast typing. The symbols immediately appear in the message field, search bar or note. Highscreen Power Five Evo copes great with many open bookmarks. This does not load it at all and does not affect the speed of operation and functionality. Buyers note high performance in games. Considering the powerful battery, as well as the bright and clear display, it will handle the most popular of them. At the same time, as they write in reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo, the smartphone does not heat up.

Highscreen Power Five Evo is announced as a smartphone with powerful battery. Five thousand milliamp-hour battery. Sometimes the results of customer tests indicate reduced battery power in the Highscreen Power Five Evo and attribute this to shortcomings.

Who is this model suitable for?

Smartphones with a powerful battery are usually sought after by those who are tired of charging their phone several times a day, and by those who are accustomed to a gadget that works autonomously for several days. Therefore, it is worth taking a closer look at the described gadget and reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo. Its characteristics are as follows:

  • long work battery, which does not require frequent recharging;
  • capacious internal memory;
  • 4G connection;
  • good camera for undemanding users;
  • stylish design, etc.

Buyers write that after a month of use they have an opinion of the Highscreen Power Five Evo as a very high-quality and interesting gadget. For example, stable operation for up to a day and a half without an additional charge. If the smartphone was connected to Wi-Fi, the battery lasted for two days. With infrequent access to the Internet and applications, Highscreen Power Five Evo can work for seven days.

The manufacturer provides a one-year warranty on the phone.

It's like someone at Highscreen watched a cartoon called "Generator Rex" where there were "super-evolved" characters called EVO. Otherwise, I cannot explain exactly this name of the new model.

Those cartoon Evos were much cooler than their human predecessors, and some of them, not all, but some, were superheroes.

In the same way, in some of its parameters, the Highscreen Power Five EVO looks like an instance evolved from a simple Five. Or at least a new branch of evolution in the line of these smartphones, which has acquired a couple of advantages compared to its “venerable ancestor”. This model probably cannot be called a pure son of the previous Five. There are differences, but will he become a superhero? Only you can judge, but I can only welcome the development of what has become my favorite line with new models - I frankly like it when I can choose something for any mood and situation. Well, the fact that they can all turn out to be the same brand is, in my opinion, clearly not a problem with the brand itself, but rather a problem with its competitors.

The criteria for searching for a new smartphone were rather vague; I, like the King himself, wanted “either music and flowers, or to stab someone.” Autumn, rain, melancholy... It happens...

In general, the following parameters were chosen for selection: the price is in the range of ten to fifteen thousand - what is now five thousand, it is, of course, cheaper, I love “a canary for a penny so that it sings and does not eat,” but everything is so inexpensive, Even before the “crisis,” it was generally outright garbage, and it is unlikely to have improved over time; this is not wine, is it? I also needed a capacious battery, which also affects the price. Preferably, you needed a good appearance, Android on your smartphone, and no Windows. That's basically it.

Quite a lot of smartphones fall under these parameters, they all have their own advantages and disadvantages compared to EVO, and an informed choice threatened to take a long time. So, we can say that the appearance of my Power Five EVO is a “spontaneous purchase”, and although “voting with your heart” instead of your brain is not the best the best choice... But! I did just that anyway. Without much consideration I became the owner of Highscreen Power Five EVO. I just loved the color!

Set

In principle, the smartphone’s package turned out to be the most ordinary, because this is not a collector’s edition of some video game. But nevertheless, there is one, so to speak, “bun” in it - this is a protective glass for the screen.

I would prefer a case, but, as they say, “dine on what God sent you,” and God and the developers sent it exactly glass.

  • protective glass;
  • Charger;
  • USB cable for synchronization and charging;
  • user guide;
  • box.

All this goodness is packaged in a white and blue box with a “minimalism” design that has long become a “corporate style” - on the box there is a schematic image of the smartphone, briefly its characteristics, in fact, everything on the box is exactly the same as on my previous Power Rage. And almost any other smartphone from this company.

So, having quickly admired the box, you can begin to examine the experimental subject himself. Unlike some gadgets, here the contents of the box are more interesting than its design.

Characteristics compared to Power Rage and Power Five:

  • screen: 5", 1280x720 pixels, IPS instead of AMOLED for Power Five;
  • processor: eight-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3 GHz instead of quad-core MT6580 in Power Rage and MT6735 in Power Five;
  • graphics accelerator: Mali-T720 MP3 for EVO and T720 MP2 for simple Five, versus Mali-400 MP2 for Power Rage;
  • operating system: Android 5.1 Lollipop;
  • RAM: 2048 MB versus 1536 MB for the Power Five;
  • built-in memory: 16 GB;
  • memory card support: microSD;
  • communications: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 900/2100 MHz, LTE 3/7/8/20;
  • SIM: two micro-SIM;
  • wireless interfaces: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0;
  • navigation: GPS, GLONASS;
  • cameras: main - 13 MP (autofocus, flash), front - 5 MP;
  • sensors: proximity sensor, light sensor, accelerometer, microgyroscope;
  • battery: Li-pol 5000 mAh, not removable;
  • dimensions: 142 x 70 x 9.6 mm;
  • weight: only 168 grams, versus 190 for my Power Rage and 176 for the Power Five.

    Frame

    If we compare it with my previous smartphones, the body is the first detail that is different from what has already become familiar to me. It's made of plastic. It is difficult to immediately say whether such a replacement benefited the smartphone. It all depends on your preferences. But the body became lighter, not as slippery as metal, and got a very nice color. Which ultimately became the determining factor for the purchase.

    Yes, I admit, I got greedy. I'm used to good cases, mostly metal. There is something so sacred in this, to feel the heavy cold of steel in your hand. The glass version of the case design is also not bad, but... I'm a fan of metal!

    The lid is made of very light and fairly thin plastic. Although in general, it seems quite durable and does not bend anywhere when sitting on the body. But the cover is attached to the body with a bunch of small latches that can easily be broken off if you attempt to remove it unsuccessfully. And most likely, if removed carelessly, it itself can also be easily damaged - it bends quite noticeably when removed. I had to use a bank card to open the insides of the smartphone as carefully as possible.

    Although, personally, by and large I liked this change! The plastic lid is an obvious attempt to cut production costs, but I honestly liked it. I don't know if I would be so pleased if the color of the lid was different. But the stars aligned in such a way that I got the coffee version.

    This coffee color of the lid brings back such pleasant nostalgic memories of the good old Nokias that I once used. The marketer who chose this shade clearly made the right decision. And also its slight roughness, which prevents the smartphone from slipping out of your hands and does not collect any fingerprints. In general, tactile and color sensations played a role. This difference from its ancestor is a clear plus for me and a sign of the evolution of this smartphone.

    The side frame between the lid and the screen is similar to aluminum, it does not give the impression of plastic, plus small dents, usually characteristic of metal, have already appeared on the edges, instead of abrasions usually characteristic of plastic. It looks like the sidewall is very soft and not very resistant to damage. The color of this part of the smartphone, in my case with a coffee-colored lid, is golden. And although it looks much nicer than the silver-colored aluminum, it doesn’t look durable either, so that’s two news.

    The bad news is that you will definitely have to look for a case. Even worse news is that our Chinese suppliers are always slow in getting decent cases for new models. In the case of my Power Rages, about a year passed before something more or less decent appeared on Aliexpress.

    How long will it take before our new champion starts to wear out without a case? Let's hope that the appearance of the smartphone will be able to remain in order until decent cases appear?

    Otherwise, this smartphone is a standard candy bar, similar to hundreds of other models. Not fat. The arrangement of the elements is also standard in principle. Unless, it seems to me that this is exactly so, it was made under left hand. The volume buttons - separate for “quieter” and “louder” (which is nice, I’m also tired of the monotonous rocker) - are located on the left side of the case, and it turned out to be more convenient to use them precisely when the smartphone was in my left hand. On the right side of the case there is a power button, on the top end there is a headphone jack, on the bottom there is a micro-USB connector.

    On the front panel you can see touch keys (without backlight), a telephone speaker, a camera and... What many users of smartphones of this brand were missing was a diode signaling missed calls and SMS! Definitely a plus! ☺

    Probably, for some, happiness consists of such small little things? ☺

    On the back there is a camera, a flash, the manufacturer's logo, and a speaker mesh, along the edges of which there are two small bumps that prevent the smartphone from lying tightly on the surface and muffling the sound of the call. In principle, the entire meeting “on clothes” can be considered completed.

    "User! This is a smartphone... Smartphone! This is a user..."

    But if you, like most normal people, process your photos on a desktop, then this will not be a problem for you.

    And if someone tells you that “the screen is dim,” just turn off that automatic display brightness adjustment, separate from MiraVision. The intense light will burn your eyes out. And certainly everything will be visible even in bright light. The screen is definitely good in brightness!

    Viewing angles will also be tolerable, in fact, at an extreme angle of about 170 degrees to the screen, you will be able to discern information on it. But this will not surprise anyone. I do see a slight blue tint when the screen is tilted, but this may be due to my personal picture settings as yellowish tints are sometimes reported.

    Hardware, not lyrical

    This is the already mentioned MiraVision technology, which improves image quality. Or CorePilot technology, which provides the smartphone with a balance between performance, power consumption and heat dissipation. It is thanks to it that the smartphone is cool almost all the time and still consumes battery energy sparingly - despite the larger number of cores than the simple Five, and a less economical screen.

    Thanks to all these characteristics, the smartphone scores good results in tests, if these numbers are still important to someone?

    In the AnTuTu performance test, I scored 36,725 points, versus 27,584 for the simple Five, which is even slightly higher than the Samsung Galaxy S4. In the GeekBench test, my EVO scored 2848 versus the Five's 1843.

    And from experience in using real life- I can say that the game Need for Speed It started up without any problems and calmly let me drive through the night streets. And apparently, all other, not so “active” games will go well too.

    No, in standby mode it will easily last a week, a week and a half, or maybe two. After turning on the “energy saving” mode, the built-in sensor cheerfully reports to us that the operating time is expected to be about 13 days.

    But we need to not only wait, right? We also sometimes want to work on a smartphone. And here we may be disappointed - we will not find a duration record. According to the results of synthetic tests: a mixed load, according to PCMark, gives us a minimum of 640 minutes of continuous operation, versus 820 minutes for the regular Five. The consolation is that some of the Boosts with a more capacious 6000 mAh battery gave only 683 minutes.

    That is, it is not a matter of the battery at all, as some “theorists” claim. The main reason lies in the not so expensive display, and more modern processor. So it's simple: Power Five EVO is a more affordable price and powerful processor- an alternative to it is the simple Five - more expensive, not as productive, but working a little longer. The choice is yours.

    And in my opinion, the capacity of this battery and the continuous operation life of smartphones in this series have increased so much that for me there is no longer much difference between EVO and just Five. If I had some smartphone with a much more capacious battery in my hands - the same smartphone from the Boost series, say 3 SE with its 9600 mAh, or Oukitel with a 10,000 mAh battery, then I think I would feel the difference. And so?

    And so I know for sure that in the real world, outside of artificial measurements and tests, using EVO, I will not be left without communication in the middle of the working day, or during the conversation I need. Plus, the much more productive EVO gives me the opportunity to play games even more comfortably - about 6 hours, watch higher quality movies, about ten files. Well, or in a more relaxed operating mode, endure about 4 days without recharging. That is, one battery charge will easily be enough for me to get to Moscow or St. Petersburg, and if I do get ready and go to my beloved Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, then I’ll just buy myself a power-bank. Well, or charging on a solar storage device. They are now worth pennies.

    The only problem was that the battery, discharged to 20 percent, took all night to charge.

    Photos, videos and other multimedia

    Of all the multimedia capabilities of a smartphone, I usually only use listening to audio. Very sometimes you need to be able to isolate yourself from the environment and fellow travelers with the sounds of “Russian Field”, or Avril Lavigne, or even Midnight Riders, if you find it, although lately I’ve been listening to tutorials foreign language. Both convenient and practical. Let those with whom the minibus brought you continue to talk nonsense, and at this moment you, like a normal realist, find out how they differ in Chinese words with the same spelling, but different tonality of pronunciation. So that the Chinese understand not only that you speak Chinese, but also the meaning of exactly what you say.

    I had no complaints about the sound reproduced by the smartphone. Some people complain about the hoarseness that occurs when playing music on the speaker, others that everything sounds too quiet - I didn’t notice anything like that. But I only use the speaker for ringtones and speakerphone, and in this case the sound is quite loud and clear. If it is not enough for someone, you can adjust it again through the engineering menu. But proceed at your own risk.

    And everything about headphones is great. Moreover, the smartphone contains some more “proprietary” technologies - this time to improve sound quality.

    The photo functions of the smartphone, in principle, also turned out to be the most standard. Unlike its predecessor, the new Highscreen Power Five EVO has a 13 MP main camera. So far I have not been able to identify the manufacturer, but its parameters: CMOS, f/2.2 aperture, focal length 3.5 mm, maximum image resolution 4160x3120 pixels (instead of 3264x2448 pixels for Five), video 1280x720 pixels and 30 frames per second.

    The camera operates under the control of a standard Google application, although it has some interesting operating modes: HDR, panoramic photography and that very “live shot” that was so heavily advertised on iPhones, and which essentially turned out to be just a micro-video file in *.mp4 format. This supposedly “new product”, it turns out, in fact turned out to be something like a long-known animated gif.

    Much more important is that this camera has a stabilization mode when taking photographs. Most likely, electronic, but even this already helps improve the quality of pictures.

    So, personally, I didn’t have any clear complaints about the quality of the photographs. Photos obtained using EVO can not only be posted on social networks, but even printed on something. And HDR, unlike many other smartphones, really works here, it really improves photos.

    I didn’t notice much noise in the photos, but, as always with mid-price smartphones, photos look best in good sunlight.

    But the automatic function for reducing ripples when shooting computer or TV screens does not work very well. Ripples are visible on the screen. Sometimes light, sometimes quite strong, but almost always visible. But the text on the photographed screen is readable very well.

    Software and everything, everything, everything else

    We can say very briefly about the Highscreen Power Five EVO software. Our champion works under Android control 5.1 Lollipop. Quite old, there will be no updates, but it is simple, without any additions, improvements or bloatware. This is frankly gratifying. I'm pretty tired of having to constantly clean out new smartphones from that heap of useless garbage that manufacturers consider it necessary to install, cutting off free space for us and sometimes slowing down the smartphone very noticeably. I'm waiting with irritation for the moment when Yandex finally breaks through to my next smartphone, waving a court order requiring manufacturers to install Yandex applications on smartphones, instead of Google ones.

    For the most part, I also demolish Google applications, each time thinking about how to get root rights this time. Why the hell do I need Yandex, where I don’t use a single application at all? And knowing the habit of this company to behave “aggressively” instead of “practically”, I believe that they, like the Chinese, will not only prevent the removal of their garbage, but will also make it difficult for the user to install Google applications.

    It was also a pleasant surprise that the manufacturers did not tinker too noticeably with Android itself, breaking the usual functions. In my “old” Power Rage, for example (which has the same version of Android as EVO), I never found a clear way to force “contacts” to display not the entire list of recipients associated with my google account, but only show those who has the phone number. The crutch on Rage was the transfer of everyone telephone numbers into the smartphone’s memory, and enable the “show only numbers on the smartphone” filter. But on the EVO, the Contacts app worked as expected - when you launch it, you're shown a "start screen" with important numbers attached with an asterisk, and phone book a list of telephone subscribers only, which does not include, by default, spammers or other persons who simply sent me an email.

    The "dialer" still turned out to be not very convenient. Or too simple, take your pick. It has a blacklist for annoying people, but there is only one call button, although if you enabled the option “ask which SIM card to call through,” then you will be asked to select a SIM card before calling. But for me personally, this was not entirely convenient, so I replaced the dialer with one that has two buttons at once and allows you to immediately select which SIM card to make a call from.

    By and large, nothing else had to be “configured”. Unnecessary applications from Google - like books, music, games, what social messenger, photos and Google Plus - can be easily disabled through program management. Or, having received root rights, delete them altogether. Fortunately, TWRP recovery for EVO is already available, and it has the ability to install SuperSU.

    You will, however, have to use a special program for flashing the firmware and find out the meaning of the word scatter file, but if you can’t do this, then you hardly need root. I'm serious!

    Immediately after launch, out of the box, music file formats are supported: AAC, AAC+, AMR, AMR-WB, FLAC, MIDI, MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV. Also supported video formats: 3GPP, AVI, H.263, H.264, MP4, WebM, WMV, Xvid.

    And I can say that a video file with a capacity of 3.5 GB, MKV file format (AVC video, AC-3 audio), frame sides of 1024x552 pixels and 60 fps went without the slightest problems and friezes. But a regular MPG file will not start on the simple built-in player, and you will have to install a more advanced one: some VLC with its own set of codecs.

    The only thing that caused constant irritation when using multimedia functions was that problems with Russian-language MP3s arose again. What’s the matter is again unclear, but sometimes in one file some of the Russian tags were read without problems, while the other part was displayed in letters of the alphabet that you couldn’t immediately identify.

    However, this was a real problem only when using the built-in application and when setting music to the ringtone. After changing the player to an alternative one, everything was in order - tags of any format were displayed as needed.

    It is also strange why the complete encryption of the smartphone was cut out, leaving only the protection of certain categories of files. In any case, I did not find a simple and clear “Encrypt all data” item in the “Security” menu, as in Rage. Only the “Data Protection” item, where it was proposed to protect pictures, music or videos, but protection of the address book or other equally important functions was not provided. As well as complete phone protection. Let's hope that this will be fixed in future firmware or mods.

    But it turned out that it was possible to unlock the OS bootloader directly from the menu for developers. If I remember correctly, it is the impossibility of such unlocking that makes it difficult to install mods or install another version of Android.

    As a result, all that can be said about the software is that two firmware versions now exist and are available in the form of update files - 1.0.5 and 1.0.9 - at first glance, they are almost equivalent and easy to use. In the first one, however, there is no obvious option to put different calls on different SIM cards. In the second - according to reviews, sometimes the “double-tap to unlock” mode fails, and a smartphone held up to your ear, with the screen turned off by the proximity sensor, still unlocks, and you touch it with your cheek or ear and launch everything.

    What to use is up to you. There are no alternatives yet, just as there are none for Power Rage. Although this is where Five differs for the better - my favorite MIUI is not there for it, but it already has Cyanogen and Flame. So maybe something alternative will appear on EVO soon. But simple updates to the Android version are unlikely.

    And in the end I will tell

    In conclusion, I can say that although a smartphone may indeed raise some questions, it is nevertheless quite an interesting thing to buy. It all depends on your priorities. In my opinion, it had enough advantages for me to feel satisfied with the new product. And I can confidently recommend it to others, since I am not the only one who is satisfied.

    “Today I have a record, only 3% was consumed overnight. In general, the phone has been without charging for two days now. With my use, this is simply awesome, because... I charged the Nexus 5 twice a day.”
