True phone does not see contacts. True Phone - My favorite phone book. Screenshots of True Phone for Android

For each smartphone operating under Android control, a so-called “dialer” has been installed. This is an application that combines dialing, call log and contact book. But not everyone likes the option created by the smartphone manufacturer. In this case, we consider installing a “dialer” from third-party developers. It is these types of applications that we will talk about in this article.

There are a variety of “dialers” for Android. They can have both very wide and standard functionality. They can also be paid or free. In the first case, you will most likely see advertisements regularly. In the second, there will be no advertising, but you will have to spend some money. Finally, can be equipped with the function Reserve copy to your chosen cloud service. This will allow you to not rely strictly on Google's servers. However, enough of the lyrics. Let's get acquainted with what the best “dialers” are.

True Phone

Simple enough, but functional program. First of all, it is intended for those people whose pre-installed application for some reason refuses to work stably. Here, each contact is equipped with a round miniature. If the contact does not have a photo, then the first letter of the name is displayed in this thumbnail. If necessary, you can quickly move to the desired part of the list - for this, the alphabet on the right edge is used. All information in this and some other sections is on a black background. However, this is only the default - the color can be changed.

In total, True Phone consists of four tabs. In addition to “Contacts”, these are “Phone”, “Favorites” and “Groups”. Last section very convenient. With its help, you can unite your entire family into one group, further simplifying the call of any relative.

Each contact here has its own page. The application also supports speed dialing. It is also important that the program has rich settings. In particular, you can easily change the size of the lines and font, as well as the color of any element. As expected, True Phone provides the ability to manage two SIM cards. You can even create two call buttons! The application also has experimental functions that can be activated.

In short, the developers did their best. They distribute their product for free. However, advertising will be displayed in the application settings (not immediately, but 7 days after installation). If it annoys you, you can spend a couple of dollars on the Pro version.

PixelPhone

Another free “dialer” for Android. Initially, Russian developers were involved in the development of the application. But later the program was acquired by Felink Technology. Its management liked the fact that the application not only supports work with three SIM cards if the smartphone has so many slots, but is also equipped with Antispam technology. However, from now on all advanced functions are contained only in PixelPhone Pro, which is distributed on a paid basis.

The contact book in this application is made in a traditional manner. Next to each entry there is a round miniature. If there is no photograph, then the miniature contains only the silhouette of a man. All contacts are divided alphabetically. You can navigate to the desired letter using the list on the right. You can also enter the first letters of your last name at any time using the search bar at the top of the interface. As with all applications of this kind, there is a “Blacklist” function. But even more, users should like the ability to change themes. By default, the Material theme is activated, which first appeared in Android 5.0.

exDialer

A very good dialer for Android with a built-in contact book. The application supports the Russian-language SmartDial, so the desired contact can be found in a couple of clicks. At the same time, the program works very quickly. Even if your contact book consists of several hundred entries, and the application is installed on an old smartphone with weak components.

Like many other Russian dialers for Android, exDialer has rich settings. At any time the user can change the theme, as well as change the font sizes and various elements interface. Moreover, gestures are supported here, the reactions to which are also customizable. There is also support for plugins that can expand the functionality even further.

Unfortunately, the application will not suit everyone. The fact is that free version In essence, it is an introductory program - it only works for one week. As soon as you get used to the dialer, it refuses to start, requiring you to pay 230 rubles. However, this is not the largest amount - Smartbobr recommends forking out! This is the case when the application is worth the money they ask for it.

2GIS Dialer
ASUS Dialer

At one time, this call manager was present only on ASUS smartphones. But at some point, the Taiwanese manufacturer decided to popularize his creation a little more by posting it on Google Play. The program is completely free. From the word “in general”. There is neither paid content, no advertising. But you shouldn’t expect any extraordinary functionality. In fact, this is a standard “dialer” for Android, which has only basic capabilities. For example, the number of functions includes the repeatedly mentioned SmartDial, which makes it easier to find the desired contact. Any entry can be added to the “black list”. Wherein this list unwanted numbers is a separate section where there is detailed management of blocked contacts.

Support for themes can be considered a nice bonus. This feature allows you to quickly change the background and text colors. The utility also offers to use the so-called “simple mode”. In fact, it activates an interface for the visually impaired - all elements become very large, and some disappear completely (in particular, in this mode you will have to forget about SmartDial).

Drupe

A very unusual “dialer” for Android. The fact is that it offers a unique way to call up the contact book. After installing the program, you will see four dots on the left side of the screen. If you pull them, the Drupe application will open. It turns out that space on the desktop is freed up for one icon.

A special interface is also used inside the application itself. If you hold your finger on a contact, you can drag it to one of several icons. For example, drag a contact onto the messenger - a message entry window appears. Drag the contact onto the call icon and the call begins. Very comfortably! Any contact here can be created as a shortcut on the desktop. And not only on it - the shortcut can even be displayed on the lock screen! Another feature of this creation by the developers is the “Reminder”. Here you can enter an entry with a request to remind you of the need to call a subscriber.

The interface of the contact book and other sections is far from Material Design. But at least this makes the application original. Of course, all menu items are translated into Russian, otherwise the program would not have been included in our selection. Nothing bad can be said about finding the right contact - the SmartDial function manifests itself in all its glory. But the not-so-rich settings are somewhat disappointing - only a few parameters can be changed.

The application turned out to be very convenient, but it will definitely take you some time to master the controls. It is also impossible not to note the fact that the fully functional version of Drupe costs money. You can use the free option, but it will be annoying due to regular advertising.

DW Contacts & Phone & Dialer

Another “dialer” that is a real combine. This application“Contacts” on Android has a colorful interface, which should appeal not so much to guys as to girls. At the same time, the search is implemented well here. If you have forgotten the name of the person you are going to call, you can search by birthday, website, e-mail and many other parameters. As long as the required contact has the appropriate fields filled in... And there is also voice search!

At incoming call the program is able to pronounce the subscriber's name. She copes with this quite well. The application has a great implementation of a call log. Convenient sorting is available in it. You can also create a note in the call log at any time. This is a very useful feature, believe me!

Since this is a full-fledged combine, you can find all the information about the selected contact in one place. That is, you will see when he called you, all his SMS and various statistics. By the way, the time of all calls is constantly taken into account here. The program can notify you when your free time ends.

The application supports VoIP. This means that it can work with Skype, Viber and other Internet services of this kind. The user should also be pleased with the “Settings” section, in which almost everything is configured. You can also change the theme, which is good news. But the presence of advertising can be upsetting. The developers are literally forcing you to buy a paid version of their program.

Summarizing

This is our story about best managers calls for Android are coming to an end. There are a lot of similar applications created, but we recommend paying attention only to those discussed in this article. Some of the programs will definitely suit you 100%.

Have you ever used a third-party dialer? Or do you prefer the option pre-installed by the smartphone manufacturer? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.

While the whole world is overwhelmed by hysteria, we continue the series of articles dedicated to.

Let us recall that in the last article we studied a simple but quite convenient 2GIS Dialer, the good old ExDialer, which we met a couple of years ago, but remained almost at the same level, as well as Phone (FUG), which pleased us with the ability to replace the call screen.

Now we will contrast them with three direct competitors. Truedialer will go first, both pleasing and saddening with its global phone book. The second test subject is True Phone - a kind of combine that offers a lot of functions, but requires a certain fee. And the review will end with PixelPhone, which we reviewed two years ago, but has not lost its position. Over time, the authors have a full-fledged website, and they position their project as something “brilliant” and constantly evolving. So let's get started.

The test equipment used was a DEXP Ursus 8EV2 3G tablet (Android 4.4.2, MT8382 processor, 4 x Cortex-A7 1.3 GHz, Mali-400 MP2 video core, 1 GB of RAM, 4,000 mAh battery, 3G module, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n) and smartphone Homtom HT3 Pro (Android 5.1 Lollipop, MT6735P processor, 4 x Cortex-A53 1.0 GHz, 64-bit, Mali-T720 video core, 2 GB RAM, 3,000 mAh battery, 4G module, Wi -Fi 802.11b/g/n).

Truedialer

Acquaintance

Truedialer app requires registration telephone number, however this procedure necessary to create a kind of global telephone directory. "Truedialer is an app from the creators of the Truecaller community, which has over 200 million users worldwide". For me, this convenience of searching for a subscriber is questionable, and not safe, but here, as they say, to each his own.

On the other side - “Verification of your number is necessary to provide access to the function of searching for contacts of people and organizations in the Truecaller database of more than two billion numbers worldwide. With the help of a verified account, the user independently manages his information and decides who to give access to his contacts. Verification protects users from fake numbers and accounts in the system". And this is somewhat “calming”. However, let's consider this solution as an ordinary but convenient dialer.

First impression and setup

So, as mentioned above, the app requires the user to register their phone number. After this, the program will make an automatic call to him and you will have to “confess everything” by indicating your first and last name, or using quick registration through social networks.

After all this, an unpleasant surprise awaited me. I sent information about myself, but I couldn’t log into Truedialer. Only restarting the application helped, and I again appeared among friends from the neighboring continent.

This was followed by auto-detection of unknown numbers from the call log and phone book. I was only able to make out and understand who it was in one entry, and it was an impartial one. The remaining subscribers were identified by a set of numbers and foreign letters.

If we talk about the program interface itself, it is standard. A list of calls is provided, there is a quick search at the very top, a half-screen dialer, as well as labels indicating which of the two SIMs the call was made from.

The phone book shortcut is hidden in the lower left corner. Its size means small fingers and enviable accuracy of the user. Everything in the book itself is standard, there is an alphabetical index.

Finding settings as well as call sorting is not so easy. All this is hidden under three dots in the search bar.

One interesting thing to note in the settings is the status - when the Internet is activated, other users of this brainchild can see that you are busy or are at a certain event (and don’t even dare call until I’m free). In general, some semblance of status in the messenger.

By the way, for greater clarity, it is provided step by step guide. The latter is really more than obvious here and greatly facilitates the process of getting to know the “dialer”.

Straight to the point - the topic of today's review will be the phone book application - True Phone.

Now, traditional lyrics... This review does not pretend to be one hundred percent true and truthful - the fact is that in my entire life together with smart devices, it was the dialer (Dialer) and the phone book that I touched extremely rarely. Or rather, I always changed the regular stock one for something else, but that “something” was almost always the dialer included in Yandex.Shell. I installed other programs, like PixelPhone, ExDialer and others, for literally 15-20 minutes each and took them off - they really made me nervous. For some reason, it is with phone books that I have the most difficult relationship. Perhaps it’s because I hate talking on the phone, but due to certain circumstances, the duration of calls per day reached three hours, and with an inconvenient application, it generally turned into torture.

One day I opened a Yandex dialer for myself - and everything about it suited me (or rather, it suited me), but it does not support dual-SIM devices, which is not very good, or rather, quite bad. And so, at the time of my acquisition of the Lenovo S580 as a second phone, I was forced to turn to the search again... I started, as usual, not in the smartest way - not with the most popular (which would be logical), but with the newest ( even a beta version was considered). And then, as they say, I hit the sky with my finger, and right in the middle - the very first program remained on the phone. And it has been standing safely since November 2014...

So, let’s get started with the review of the only True Phone dialer program I use on dual-SIM Android smartphones.

Yes, True Phone is no longer the same as I set it up for the first time - it has matured, turned from an ambitious project to create the best dialer into a real serious program. At the same time, having acquired a number of useful functions and properties, it did not turn into a mastodon, trying to absorb my mind with an abundance of unnecessary options, the essence of which, for the most part, boils down to the existence of these very options. At the same time, everything you need is there. The recipe for such balance is simple: the developer simply posted the application on popular resource, and receives the main ideas for optimization and improvement from reviews and wishes for the program, and thanks to simply enormous feedback, the application turned out to be truly “user-friendly”.

Launched...

In appearance, there is nothing unusual: a dialer, four tabs, contacts (which is not surprising - in the phone book).

You can switch tabs by swiping, or by tapping, or you can not switch at all - the “Phone” tab is quite self-sufficient.

Thus, the search from the dialer is carried out through all entries in the contact, and to make a call it is not at all necessary to go into the phone book, but rather simply dial some of the information. And besides, looking ahead, I will say that most visible elements are customizable, or rather, the events that occur by tapping on an element are customizable.

The "Favorites" tab is unremarkable. She still lacks the latest or most frequent calls - it’s convenient. We expect it in the next new versions.

"Contacts". Of course, as with all unique and best dialers, we are asked to optimize contacts. Convenient, of course, but it seems to me that it’s somehow useless. Well, it will find identical addresses, phone numbers, names, and offer to combine them... But now I’m used to keeping my contacts in a normal, correct form. Here too, out of one hundred and fifty contacts, he decided to optimize eleven.

Little things. But, this is my opinion - if your contacts are recorded “on the knee” (and this happens quite often - the circumstances are the same), optimization will definitely help!

At the bottom is a plus sign, which logically adds a person.

Dialogue new entry completely software - no stock app, no system - all your own. Step-by-step, simple: name and storage location, phone number. All.

My mom doesn't need any more. I usually add mail fields, events, places of work.

And, of course, I’m trying to put a photo - by default, the first letter acts as an avatar, but if you click in that field with a capital letter, you can also put a photo with a face.

Of course, there is a choice of ringtone and group.

That's the entire phone book. All that remains is the "Groups" tab.

Have you looked? And I do.

Now we’ll open the menu, which is located in the standard ellipsis, which we so stubbornly avoided touching, and let’s see why I decided to write about the subject. Of course, we are interested in the settings.

So, " Appearance" - four themes. The themes are neutral, do not copy any KitKat or Lollipop interfaces with iPhones - they are completely original. You cannot customize the colors of the elements yourself. As usual, this is a double-edged sword: on the one hand - bad without additional color settings, on the other - good without unnecessary color adjustments.

Actually, what is there - they chose and forgot. If I didn’t like it, they changed it, I didn’t like any of the four - they wrote in the comments to the review that the application “sucks”, they tore it down and installed their own. Still simple.

And we'll go to the "Tabs" tab.

I like it! You can disable unnecessary ones, for example, “Groups”. You can also change places, but I don’t see any need for this. Absolutely. But it wasn’t just me who wrote wishes for the software...

In the list item size we select the photo size. Please note, not text, not numbers, not anything else, but photographs. Accordingly, the larger the size, the greater the space between the fields; the smaller, the opposite.

The size of the keyboard needs no comment. We just choose a convenient one: if you have thick fingers - larger ones, and if you are an elf - smaller ones...

But the text size obviously changes the size of the text in our fields. It would be more logical to place it directly next to the size of the avatar, but for some reason the keyboard was shoved between them.

I strongly advise you not to miss the very simple selection of “Favorite Contacts”. It would seem like a small thing, but the appearance and convenience change radically.

Again, mom no longer misses contact, which has a positive effect on general attitude to a touch phone. And then: “Everything is small, incomprehensible, invisible...”.

Navigation panel. I’ll post two screenshots, and you will find the differences, and everything will become clear without my unnecessary explanations.

The remaining options are clear from their names:

As you can see, we are not given the opportunity for total customization, but we can easily choose the type that is convenient for us.

But in the “Behavior” section we can configure the behavior of the application that is convenient for us, which is logical.

Remember when I said window elements are customizable? So, their settings are located right here - in “Quick Actions”.

There are not many actions and they are all related specifically to the phone book, i.e. We won’t be able to check the weather or start the car. But speed up navigation by defining frequent actions to the necessary elements - easily.

If you use context menu(I don't), take a look at the next tab.

But the usefulness has arrived! It's called "Missed Calls". In fact, this is where the method for handling notifications is configured. I mean, the application will remove the notification from the curtain without a system dialer. Don't know which method is needed? Me too! So I select all, and the notifications go away just fine.

I won’t comment on other features - it’s better to see once than to read Captain Obvious’ conclusions a hundred times.

"Dialpad". This is the name of the next section. It’s as simple as that. Only one point requires explanation - size. This point is duplicated with what we have already seen in “Appearance”: if you change here, it changes there too, vice versa also works.

And I’ll note the very useful “One-handed control” function - it seems to me that the feature was sincerely borrowed from Lenov (at least there I first saw it), but, fortunately, Android world different from the iOS world, where everything is patented, down to the red color, the curve of the case and the sound of the button click...

Let's look at "Contacts", after all, this is our main telephone directory. The very first column, “Visible Contacts,” is the most useful.

In essence, this is the most common filter, but a filter that can work with accounts and groups.

Again we see repeated options, for example, “Photo Style”. For example, I hate the square. That's why avatars are only round.

Here you can also configure the search area and the principle of searching for occurrences:

And to slightly optimize the display of the contact card, the items “Contact Card” (who would have thought, right?) and “Additional information about the contact” (one of two flaws in the writing, why were these abbreviations needed?) are intended to be used.

“Call history” - as we see from the description, a lot more is planned, but for now, literally three points have been implemented.

Have you noticed that I don’t describe everything? This is because the developer writes an absolutely clear explanation under almost every name, from which even a complete beginner can understand what this or that jackdaw does.

Now, after all this most common crap for any best dialer, let's move on to the really important thing - the settings of two SIM cards. I’ll say right away that the program is unique - it intercepts the system card selection dialog when making a call.

Now in normal words: on the Lenovo S580 you cannot select a default card, moreover, you cannot link the card to a number - when using any dealer, the window with the choice of cards will definitely pop up, no matter how many times we set the default card in the application. But this doesn’t work with True Phone - it completely disables the annoying window and does everything itself based on your instructions!

What's bad is that it can't determine operator names. This is a small thing, but it bothers me. Therefore, we immediately change the handles ourselves and select the icon.

If you have one card for calls and another for the Internet, then simply set the default card in the next step.

“The same SIM...” - which card they called you on - that’s the one from which the call came.

“Binding contacts” - we take a specific number ourselves and directly give the control center the program from which card to call.

"Phone masks." If you understand the principle, everything is simple, effective and very often applicable in real life.

And the principle is this:

  • in parentheses we write “either-or”;
  • without brackets - exact match numbers;
  • The symbol "#" defines any character.

For example, (+7,8)91(5,8) ####### means that the linked card (MTS) will be used for all numbers starting with "+7" or "8" with operator code "915 " or "918".

As they say, don't shoot the pianist - I explained it as best I could...

  • Be sure to check the box for “System integration” - this is exactly what I wrote about.

Let's omit the "black list". It exists, and it even works.

But let’s stop at the “Application icons” and “Create shortcut” items. So, the first of them disables unnecessary shortcuts in the menu (for example, I don’t need “Contacts” - if necessary, I’ll switch by swiping).

And the second, on the contrary, adds shortcuts, but to the desktop (not in the menu). At the same time, in addition to our tabs, you can indicate direct contact.

We will skip all sorts of gratitude. And let's go to the very end. There are three options here. I strongly advise you to enable the “Remain in memory” checkbox - this will increase the priority of the application and the system will close it much less often, which will speed up the reception of calls (especially on weak phones).

The next point helps to improve our program - I always turn it off. There are no adequate reasons - just paranoia... You see, “we are being watched.” Although I allow Google, Yandex and Facebook to engage in all sorts of “intelligence” for some reason.

And a very interesting option “Assign main numbers...” (another unnecessary abbreviation). The application itself will try to intelligently determine the main numbers based on some characteristics. Even if this doesn’t seem to me like a manifestation of higher computer intelligence, it’s not in vain that the next “Terminator” comes out as a reminder... By the way, I defined it quite correctly.

Something like that. Among the not-mentioned goodies there is speed dialing, which is configured in the phone menu (where the dialer is), import/export of contacts (in the “Contacts” tab) and, in fact, that’s all.

    Opinion

The application is free. According to the author, there is advertising somewhere in it - I couldn’t find it, although I use the version from the market. Again, according to the author, when the application leaves the “creation” mode, there will be two versions: advertising and ad-free with the same functionality.

Otherwise, the application is very fast, absolutely lag-free on most devices (this is Android, remember? It simply by definition cannot be lag-free always and everywhere). The response of developers to identified problems is not immediate, but quick and adequate: the list of supported dual-SIM devices is constantly increasing, work in latest versions operating system, identified errors are corrected.

What’s remarkable is that the interface is fully adapted for one-handed operation even on very large devices.

What am I missing in the program? As in that joke: “I would part my hair on the right side”... So do I: I would like a blue t-shirt and smaller arrows in the call log, and so that the names of the operators can be determined by themselves.

Yes, read Helpix - it's interesting!
