Over the past few months, we have already seen many representatives of the family of such gadgets:, and others. Xiaomi was one of the last to release such watches, together with the Mijia brand. This watch continues the minimalist design concept of Mijia products and comes with an analog dial and some smart features. We decided to review the Xiaomi Mijia Quartz Watch and figure out how smart it is and how well the price matches the quality.

The watch is available in three colors: black, blue and grey. We have a black model with a black leather strap. The first impression of the watch is very strong, although it does not create the feeling of a smartwatch. A spherical glass, protruding in the middle and tapering at the edges, protects the very simple and unassuming dial. In some ways, this design is reminiscent of the LUCH watches released in the last century. Don't you think so?

Except that Quartz Watch has an additional dial that shows the number of steps taken. Yes, even in the black version of the watch there is a CD pattern on the dial, so in the sun it has a different texture. The glass in the watch is mineral, so it can be scratched easily. So without protective film, which covers the glass, is indispensable. Not only does it have 93% transparency, but it is also wear-resistant and reflective.

The watch case is made of metal; according to the manufacturer, it is 316L stainless steel, painted with PVD coating. As for the crown, unlike a regular watch, it is not used here to move the hands, only to launch some functions.

The watch strap is rumored to be made from cowhide leather imported from Italy. It is quick-release, allowing you to replace it with one press of the spring latch. It can be replaced with any standard 20mm strap from a third-party manufacturer to suit your mood and clothing style.

We seem to have sorted out the design, now let's move on to the functions. The Mijia Quartz Watch is not as smart as a regular smartwatch. They don't know how to measure heart rate, don't know how to make calls, etc. But, first things first.

The watch is equipped with a professional pedometer, which can accurately count steps, distance and calories. The number of steps taken can be seen on a small dial. Statistics, history, as well as the number of calories burned can be viewed in the Mijia application. By the way, during the announcement there was information that the watch will work with the Mi Fit application. In order to connect the watch, you will have to select “Continental China” in the application settings, since apparently the watch has not yet been added to the international version.

The application itself is very simple and intuitive. In addition to viewing statistics in the application, you can set the world time from a list of 10 cities, turn on alarms and interval reminders, as well as notifications about calls and messages, about which the watch will notify you with vibration. That is, there are not so many “smart” functions.

One of the advantages of this gadget is that it does not need to be charged. Instead of a battery, the battery used here is a CR2430 battery, which can be bought at any market or store. And it will have to be changed approximately once every six months.

In general, my impressions of the Xiaomi Mijia Quartz Watch are only positive. This is a simple, stylish watch with excellent build quality and a minimal set of functions. If only they added a date or at least a day of the week to the dial, and made them a little thinner, they wouldn’t be worth the price.
