Phone fly e 190. Fly E190 Wi-Fi Secret codes. Manufacturer reports SAR characteristics

The Fly brand (owned by the Meridian Group) began producing dual-SIM solutions back in 2007. They were originally part of the DS series ( Dual SIM), but over time they spread to other lines and now almost all Fly devices support two SIM cards.

The entertainment model Fly E190 Wi-Fi, which will be discussed below, was presented at the end of June and released in July. Its main features were: Wi-Fi support, large touchscreen, made using capacitive technology (unusual for Fly phones) and a metal body.

Technical characteristics of Fly E190 Wi-Fi:

Design and construction:

Fly E190 Wi-Fi – typical touchscreen phone in monoblock form factor. It is slightly larger in size Apple iPhone 4 and much heavier. The dimensions of the device according to the passport are 116 x 62.5 x 11.6 mm, weight – 168 g. Rear end slightly rounded, and the front with rectangular corners. In general, it fits comfortably in the hand, but the weight, of course, bothers me.

On the front there is 3.5" touch screen with HVGA resolution (480 x 320 pixels). Below it is placed function key, having a convenient move. At the top there is the Fly logo, speaker and proximity sensor. There is a microphone on the bottom end, and a power off/lock button on the top. On the back there are holes for the speaker, a camera window and several logos. The left side is free of connectors and buttons, and the right side houses a universal microUSB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The location for the audio port was chosen poorly - you won’t be able to connect headphones and carry the phone in your pocket, since the plug will get in the way.

The E190 Wi-Fi case is made of matte plastic, and the battery compartment cover is metal. The device is assembled neatly, does not creak or play. Back cover Easy to remove from bottom to top. Hidden underneath accumulator battery capacity 1,400 mAh, card slot microSD memory(supports high-capacity cards up to 32 GB) and two SIM slots. The latter are located on top of each other, and removing the SIM card from the bottom slot is not very convenient.

The device comes with a wired stereo headset, charger, USB cable, and various documentation.

Software:

Fly E190 Wi-Fi is not a smartphone and is based on a proprietary platform. Let's take a closer look at the software capabilities.

To unlock the screen after turning off the display, you need to press one of the keys and place your finger on the “Unlock” icon. Two seconds and the screen is active again. The user has access to one main screen and several auxiliary ones: album, (photos), favorites (favorite numbers), shortcuts (links to frequently used applications and functions), player, messages, latest calls and settings. You can switch between them by swiping right and left. Unnecessary screens and their location can be changed in the settings.

You can install widgets, applications, regular background pictures and live wallpapers on the home screen. There are enough widgets and applications for simple phone: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (tightly glued), clock, network status, calendar, browser, camera, music player, clock, volume, messenger, profiles, snowman (adds snowflakes to the screen) and sheep (just runs across the screen and has a virtual grass).

The line of indicators at the top displays: the reception signal of both SIM cards, wireless network icons, signal profile, blocking, time, battery level, missed calls, messages, etc.

Regardless of the open screen, four buttons are visible at the bottom - the desktop switch button, calls, messages and menu.

The menu contains all functions and programs. Icons can be dragged here and there:

The menu itself can be presented in three options - standard, cascade and tornado. The last two variations seem like overindulgence to me, as they are inconvenient.

Standard programs allow you to listen to music and watch videos, edit photos, read books, watch videos on YouTube (via Opera Mobile), surf the web, view maps ( Google Maps), listen to FM radio (via wired headphones), take notes. There is a calculator, voice recorder, file manager. A weight and length converter is also present, but there are not very many measures in them. Additional programs are written to the Java menu.

There are two games – “Mosaic” (the hated “tags”) and “Magic Sushi” (from the “match three identical objects in a row” genre). I don't have the slightest desire to play both.

Fly E190 Wi-Fi offers two services – Flybuzz for messaging and Fly Store for purchasing various content (music, games, pictures, etc.). The phone has a Wi-Fi module and this function is even included in the name, but for some reason downloading games through wireless network You can’t – the service insists on checking your mobile network settings.

Camera:

The device uses a 3.2-megapixel camera without flash and autofocus. It takes photos at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and records videos at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Camera settings are standard: scene, self-timer, digital zoom, face detection, white balance, brightness, quality.

The resulting video on big screen It’s better not to look, but the quality of the pictures for a phone of this class is satisfactory, although photographing text is problematic due to the lack of autofocus:

Player:

The standard media player supports MP3, AAC, AMR, WAV, MID and MP4, 3GP, AVI formats. Through the main menu of the player, you can select the content source or enter the settings. The main screen of the player is overloaded with keys, but everything is clear and functional:

The phone uses SRS WOW HD technology. Judging by the demo track SRS 3D test music (the phone creates truly surround sound with a high presence effect), it is capable of a lot, although essentially it plays the role of a regular equalizer.

Usage experience:

When using two SIM cards, it is possible to leave only one SIM active, and you can also select the operating mode - Wi-Fi only, preferably GSM, preferably Wi-Fi. When you make a call or send a message, a menu appears to select the SIM card from which the action will be performed. The phone has one radio module built in and the cards work in standby mode. This means that during a conversation or web surfing through one SIM, the second one is unavailable - they will not be able to reach it. Pending incoming call both are active.

The device uses a battery with a capacity of 1,400 mAh. According to the manufacturer, it lasts for 6 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby time. During testing, the long operating time was, in general, confirmed - in a week and a half the device was charged only twice.

Fly E190 Wi-Fi - Six months of dating

20.03.2012

For six months of using the Fly E190 Wi-Fi phone, I felt its advantages over the Fly MC150 DS, Fly MC170 DS and DS160 already in my family. However, these push-button models have balanced and tested firmware.

And now our collective impressions of working with the device.

1. The battery is adequate for this model.

2. Possibility of additional settings in the engineering menu.

3. Appearance, from a distance, and weight is balanced with cost.

4. The quality of the screen itself and use - by touching your fingers. Some people complain about the reduced responsiveness of the screen on the right.

5. The quality of the external speaker is balanced with the cost. Some people complain about quiet speaker and a bad headset.

6. Supports two SIM cards.

7. Very convenient use of SMS and MMS messages.

8. There are no restrictions on the number of ringtones for contacts and SMS, and in general there is a normal number of fields per contact.

9. Background noise during a conversation (for those who don’t need it all the time, you can add a file with silence to the default list).

10. Wi-Fi works! Installed Operas work both via Wi-Fi and GPRS.

11. Quick installation and good performance of Java (GPRS) user applications. Separation of installed applications by phone/memory card location and separate selection of them into MY FILES.

12. A pleasant surprise - MRP support, including the Fly Store firmware emulator.

13. Multimedia capabilities - multi-format and playback of files with non-standard proportions, streaming video from the network and playback of already downloaded flash, without additional conversion. The player works via Wi-Fi and GPRS.

Audio files are played in LOSSLESS ape format.

14. Communication with a computer (flash/web camera/modem).

15. Remembers all your devices via Bluetooth and receives files and contacts without additional confirmation of connection.

16. The built-in reader works more correctly than on earlier Fly models (opening any txt resulted in its transfer to the Ebook folder).

Glitch 1, the most important one - “all profiles disappear!” or "Both SIM cards have turned off. What should I do about it?"

From me - an algorithm for restoring Internet profiles without a service center and resetting settings.

Making profiles disappear

Everything worked well on the E190 when installed only SIM1 MTSEnergy and disabled SIM2 and without a card.

I put the second card in and turn on dual mode:

SIM1 MTSEnergy SIM2 Kyivstar

SMS messages automatically arrive with settings for SIM2, I happily install everything offered and see 3 profiles for SIM1 (previously installed) and 9 profiles for SIM2.

I turn off the phone and take out SIM2.

I turn on the phone and see that there are no profiles at all.

I turn off the phone and put SIM2 back in dual mode.

I turn on the phone and see that there are no profiles and each SIM is now unavailable in dual and selective mode.

I select FLIGHT MODE and turn off the phone.

We are trying to restore profiles

I install MTS-regionalniy in the SIM1 slot (the same operator, but a different tariff, and the Internet access service is already connected to it).

I turn on the phone.

I switch the SIM1 only mode - I see a working SIM card, and profiles are immediately automatically installed.

I'm rearranging this map MTS-regionalniy in SIM2.

I turn on the phone.

I switch the SIM2 only mode - I see a working SIM card, and profiles are immediately automatically installed.

I go to profiles and see a lot of profiles.

Moreover, both old ones from Kyivstar and new ones from MTS.

I delete all profiles for SIM2.

I go to received SMS and delete all SMS received for SIM2!

I turn on FLIGHT MODE and turn off the phone.

I take all the cards out of the phone.

I install the original SIM1 MTSEnergy and leave SIM2 without a card.

I turn on the phone and select the only SIM1 mode available to me - I again see a working SIM card, and again the profiles are automatically installed again.

I go to profiles and see a lot of duplicate profiles for SIM1 from MTS.

I leave only 1 copy.

There is no need to take it to a service center or reset the settings.

What profiles should there be on the phone?

Birthdays and calendar using MOBILedit! I couldn’t move it anywhere either.

If you struggle with exporting old contacts, and archive new ones in a timely manner by saving business cards *.vcf.

But I personally have not tried to do this.

Setting a melody for a specific contact: the contact must be entered into the phone’s memory (not the SIM card).

Enter contact editing mode - ringtone - select file - options - select file - select ringtone - options - save.

The number of custom melodies is unlimited.

When the phone is operating in USB storage mode, an incoming call will sound the melody from the firmware, and not the one set by the user.

Melody for incoming call:

Configured for each profile separately.

Setting a standard ringtone: profiles - your profile - options - settings - incoming SIM - options - replacement - select - options - save.

Setting the user's ringtone: profiles - your profile - options - settings - incoming SIM - options - replacement - open gallery - select a ringtone - options - save.

You cannot delete factory ringtones.

Changing a custom melody: select a melody - replace - select another melody - options - save.

Melody for SMS:

Profiles - your profile - options - SIM message - options - replacement - select a melody (built-in or custom) - selection.

Creating SMS:

You cannot add words to T9, as in other Flyas.

The accelerometer works and you can print in landscape orientation, but you still have to turn the phone vertically to send.

AlbiteReader-2.0.12_samsung.jar and TequilaCat_Book_Reader_v.3.0.9.jar work great.

TequilaCat_Book_Reader_v.3.0.9.jar does not understand UTF-8, but the font in it is more convenient to configure and in the tooltip, different areas of the screen are responsible for different actions.

Office applications are definitely not for this device.

Reading limited-size PDFs allows MobilePDFRu.jar.

MiniExcel - allows you to create tables right on your phone, calculates perfectly, column width is adjustable, saves without question. However, it is not convenient to create a table with more than 5 columns by 18 rows - there is no paging and full support for the touchscreen. You will see and be able to edit only what fits on the screen.

It is impossible to open a table created on a computer - there is no compatibility, and still, a 3.5-inch screen is not enough to view a full-fledged table.

TextEditor_4 - allows you to create notes up to 300 characters.

Microsoft_Word - all versions found on the network open, but do not work, because... versions only for push-button telephones.

Although I purchased it in early November 2011 in Ukraine and my firmware has the Ukrainian language!

Maybe the Russians are of little interest to this, but since the firmware has the same name in different localizations, I inform you that it has been found glitch in supporting the Ukrainian language.

Settings - 3 standard - 6 input methods - three languages (English/Russian/Ukrainian) -

back - 7 encoding type Win1251.

Settings - 3 standard - 3 language - select RUSSIAN.

If the main language is RUSSIAN, then built-in applications with virtual keyboards:

OPERA10 Rus/English does not give you a choice of Ukrainian at all, OPERA 5.1 Rus/English and shows additional characters - kryakozyabra.

But creating SMS, notes, tasks make it possible to select the input language UKRAINIAN.

OPTIONS - input methods - English/Russian only.

All installed additional applications and Opera also have a choice of three languages.

Let's check: launch "Opera 4" (or any other).

Search - Google (Yandex) - remove keyboard - OPTIONS - 3 input methods - choice: English/Ukrainian/Russian/123...

We select “ukr”, and the letters ЗЇ ЖІ єЄ appear on the keyboard,

and when you click on the globe on the left, switch between Smart UKR ukr Ukr ABC ABC UKR ukr Ukr 123

Settings - 3 standard - 3 language - select UKRAINIAN.

Now we see that we not only have a Ukrainian phone menu, but also OPERA 10 - only Ukrainian/English. and doesn’t give you a choice of Russian at all, and OPERA 5.1 remains Russian/English. and shows additional characters - kryakozyabra, and Ukrainian No.

NOTES, TASKS and SMS consistently provide the opportunity to select the input language English/Ukrainian/Rus/123.

OPTIONS - input parameters - inscription language - 4 options.

OPTIONS - input methods - only English/Ukrainian.

In all additional installed applications and Opera, there are three languages to choose from.

We access the Internet using the E190 phone modem. All about modem connection

Download Phone program Suite (Fly_DS210_V1.9), USB, modem, WEBcamera.

PC Sync Manager-MTK-6235-2.0901.07_rus (Version 2.0901.07 from 2006) is also suitable, google drivers for MTK drivers for 7, if necessary.

Just like for other models via cable (tested on MC150 DS, MC170 DS) and via bluetooth (tested on MC150 DS, MC170 DS and DS160), the Fly E190 phone can be either a wired or a bluetooth modem.

After connecting, select the COM port on your phone and in the Fly Phone Suite program, find the desired port until a yellow lightning appears and the words “connection established.”

You can download SMS, contacts, MMS, files from drives C and E and create a connection to access the Internet SETTINGS - ESTABLISH A CONNECTION.

For example ->!!! for MTS Ukraine!!!

You need to activate the Internet using free SMS.

After confirmation from the operator that there is such Internet on this number, I advise the wap profile mercilessly destroy!

Register the APN on the computer in the modem properties according to your tariff.

For internet" and MTSEnergy (with free 20 MB):

APN: www.mts.com.ua
Number: *99***1#
Name: igprs
Password: internet
There is NO initialization line,
password is SECURE

For MTS Hypernet service:

APN: hyper.net
Number: *99***1#
Name:
Password:
Initialization string AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","hyper.net",
password is SECURE

Do not try to connect using operator traffic accounting utilities - they will not see the modem from MTK.

To connect, edit your profile in Fly Phone Suite and be sure to put SECURE password in the modem settings.

It happens that a normal connection occurs even after the 5th try - check that the pages are opening in a sane browser, for example Chrome.

Plus sign. Working with bluetooth and bluetooth headset

As I already noted in the description of address book synchronization, the problem of sending and receiving contacts is not in the Bluetooth device, but in the correctness of the data in the contact fields, from the point of view of the phone firmware.

BlueSoleil is an excellent program when there is no cable synchronization, for DS160, for example, or those who do not have editing on a PC. For example, Fly Phone Suite does not allow you to edit the contents of drives on the DS160, but BlueSoleil can do this in a certain mode and shows the overview more conveniently than the “you know what” OS.

But, if there are several phones in the family, this program adds a bunch of ports! Even if you turn off almost all the unused ones, you still get a lot!

And, by the way, BlueSoleil records all connections to ports via Fly Phone Suite.

There is no hassle at all with dialing via a modem via Bluetooth!

Choose the right port and don't call Singapore ☺.

For E190, similar to other models, just write the initialization line, otherwise the operator will simply ruin!

According to owner reviews, the E190 does not always work correctly with some headsets.

Advice: you need to try and look for one that works correctly.

Check the data transmission from the phone by connecting to the computer's Bluetooth to use the computer's speakers with the phone's player. If your integrated Bluetooth is not very high quality, try a USB device.

marat651 advises:

"Headset VT Sony Ericsson The mw600 is ideal for this device; paired with the E190, all the functions declared by the headset manufacturers work, i.e. BT v2.1 A2DP and by the way AVRCP also works, although the technical specifications of the phone indicate that AVRCP is not supported! P.S. I took it for myself, the result exceeded all expectations: the playback quality is excellent, the highs do not cut, the bass is more than + adds volume, file management is 100% recommended for music lovers!”

Fly E190, like Fly DS160, supports Chinese Java!

1. Download the archive of games in MRP format.

2. Connect the phone with installed card memory to the PC in storage mode, or you can use a card reader or Bluetooth.

3. Create a mythroad folder on the phone’s memory card (the mythroad folder or something similar should appear on its own after typing *#220807# on a flash drive! not on the phone!).

If the folder already exists, then skip step 3.

4. Copy all files and folders from the downloaded archive. There must be dsm_gm.mrp in English!!! If a message appears that the file(s) already exists, then click “replace”.

5. Disconnect the phone from the PC (insert the memory card into the phone if you used a card reader).

6. Disable SIM 1 (in the SIM card operation settings, select SIM 2 only mode or flight mode).

7. Dial *#220807# and wait - the menu appears, if it does not appear, press the “Green Tube”. -

Download for free! games.

Fly-store - games - list of available ones - selection - actual downloading to the folder "e:\mythroad\mrp320x480\".

We select FLIGHT MODE and go to the Fly store - downloads, launch the games one by one and find that for these uninteresting games, but Russified and for this screen, you are offered to pay a little.

If this option is not suitable, delete from e:\mythroad\mrp320x480\ all *.mrp except mopo.mrp and place all *.mrp found on the Internet in this folder.

We go back to the Fly store - downloads, and find a list of files with names made up of squares and symbols, Latin and sometimes Cyrillic.

If running game frozen, then pressing the bottom button will return to the last open screen, and the re-launch of the Fly Store will be with the cursor on this application, which can be deleted with the appropriate command. If the screen goes completely blank, it means the application is not suitable for the phone at all and should definitely be deleted.

Most applications access the Internet and you need to know exactly the remaining free or paid GPRS megabytes. (I don’t know about Wi-Fi for these applications.)

Applications install very quickly and they can all be found on the Java gadget or in "My Files" on the various drives on which they were installed.

If a message appears about “incorrect jad,” it means you just need to reset your Java settings and manually configure only the network connection profile. Any manipulations by craftsmen take this Java machine out of working condition.

No multitasking No, if you minimized the application, please return to it or exit.

If you listen to music, you can only access the Internet using the built-in Opera.

If you accept incoming call, the music will be silent for this time.

If you need to download a jar, but not install it, I advise you to use the internal download manager Opera 4.2 mod, at the same Internet tariff without using the wap profile. Because I couldn’t find the jar after downloading OperaMobile, and downloading it again every time was just stupid.

If there is a need to install several versions of one application or a similar one in firmware, change the name of the widget inside the archive.

On the desktop of E190 custom shortcuts, the name will be correctly displayed in no more than 9 characters.

Change the name of the jar to rar, go to the archive "name.rar\META-INF\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF", change the line (for example, for simultaneous use of Opera 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4):

MIDlet-Name: Opera 4
on MIDlet-Name: Opera4-4

change the name of rar to jar again, and after installation your program will not be replaced.

Check your Internet connection settings and programs before installing them on your phone - otherwise it will be expensive.

Find the sjboy program - this is a phone emulator on your computer.

There is no guarantee that a toy or program running on a computer will work correctly on a phone.

But, if your computer tries to send a paid SMS program, such as ideawidgets, you may think about whether to install such an application on your phone or not.

The first time I tried, I couldn’t set up games, chat or FTP on any of the Fly. And I didn't try again.

GoogleMaps built into the firmware work, but they eat up a lot of traffic and take up memory. As a joke - to see where you are - funny, but nothing more.

Sometimes I see my location practically on the next house, sometimes at a distance of “200 meters from the neighboring tower”.

Phone Features

View pictures

There is a Photos gallery, which you point in the camera on C (phone) or E (memory card), and it is beautifully shown to you on one of the desktops or opens from ALBUM with a continuous canvas of thumbnails.

When viewing, the orientation sensor is triggered.

All other folders with pictures opened by the firmware file manager do not allow viewing in SKETCH mode. Only when you hover over each picture, a thumbnail appears at the top, and when you click it opens onto the screen. And only after full opening the orientation sensor is triggered.

You don't know your phone's battery charge?

I recommend for the curious:

When connecting to a computer in com-port mode, download MOBILedit! and establish a "cable connection".

You will see the battery charge percentage and signal strength on the screen.

Manufacturer reports SAR characteristics

GSM 900 MHz max result: SAR (10 g) - 0.481

GSM 1800 MHz max result: SAR (10 g) - 0.377

This is not much, but the phone keeps a connection normally. In the city center it’s worse, in a residential area it’s great.

Memory card can support up to 32GB

But, it is also important for the card to have good speed - at least class 6, and periodically you need to defragment the computer, otherwise video recording may stop at the wrong moment.

Desktops - how many of them do you need?

There is a desktop - desktop settings, in which you need to specify the sequence and on/off. of these tables in SWING mode.

There can be black desktops with applications according to the number of applications, if there is 1 piece on 1 table.

Personally, for convenience, 4 gray and 4 black are enough for me

admin answers:

“By default - when you turn on the phone, it will ask which card to turn on, with a status - it won’t ask, it will turn on the mode that is installed.”

Lace installation!

Inconvenience - the design of the phone does not allow you to hang it on a cord!

People advise:

“It is possible to install the lanyard in an emergency way to ensure that the phone does not fall: you need to remove the back cover and unscrew the top right screw (the left one is closed with a white seal), carefully tuck the lower thin end of the lanyard into the hole, and screw the screw back, aligning the lace. We put the back cover in place, there are no unnecessary gaps and functionally everything looks standard and classic.

It is advisable to purchase a cord with a plastic adapter, not a metal one, in order to avoid scratching the phone.”

Bada with the same processor power and java support.

Most interesting dual-SIM phone from TM Fly. Metal body, huge display, excellent assembly, branded menu design and branded shell. In addition to all this, the device has a large number of communication, media and other applications. But what’s most interesting is that the price of the new product is a little more than one thousand hryvnia.

The Wi-Fi module is quite simple. 802.11 b/g profile is supported. In terms of functional features, the user can assign an access point, view the connection status, add a connection, and, of course, turn off the module.

Music

Music and related applications in the Fly E190 Wi-Fi are: “MP3 player”, “FM receiver”, and also “Dictaphone”.

As we remember, specifically for the user to get quick access to the MP3 player, on home page menu, a special desktop is implemented.

As for the features of working with the application, I will note the following. The settings menu has a special scroll bar and rewind keys. There are also separate keys for switching tracks and increasing the volume.

The menu itself displays all the songs that are both in the phone’s memory and in the memory external storage. Songs can be sorted by artists, albums, genres, playlists, etc.

Regarding sound settings, there is a preset equalizer with a huge number of bands: “bass”, “disco”, “classic”, “party”, etc.

“Dictaphone” is a simple application, but at the same time it has its own feature - the ability to record telephone conversations.

Built-in camera capabilities

Fly E190 Wi-Fi is equipped with a built-in camera based on a 3.2 megapixel matrix.

The system does not have autofocus software.

The camera starts quite quickly - a couple of seconds in time. Pictures are also saved quickly.

The user can transfer pictures via MMS, Email or Bluetooth.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the rest of the camera settings in the illustrations below.

Other applications

Other applications that also deserve the user's attention include the Fly Store application, as well as the Map package and the E-Book application.

3.5 inch display mobile phone As an option for reading, it is quite suitable if there is no alternative in the form of an electronic reader at hand. In the settings, the user can change the font size, adjust scrolling and speed, align text and much more.

The Fly Store application acts as a source for downloading a variety of content.

It is well known that the Google Map package is a kind of navigation application, the functionality of which depends on the presence of constant network activity.
I will not dwell on this application separately, since the description of its functionality is a priori a topic that has been raised on the pages of our portal in more than one review.

Conclusions. Alternative

Nothing new has happened regarding the operation of the Fly E190 Wi-Fi in dual-SIM mode - as before, two SIM cards are in standby mode, which means you can make calls from both one and the other without a prior reboot.

Overall we have good device, of course, worth a little more than 1000 hryvnia. Yes, the device is not without its shortcomings, however, one way or another, all these shortcomings are not so critical that they cannot be “covered” by the low cost of the device, as well as a number of advantages.

Regarding alternative devices, the situation is as follows. The most likely competitor to the Fly E190 Wi-Fi should be considered Samsung Star II S5260, as well as LG T315i Cookie Wi-Fi. We will present reviews of these devices in the very near future.

Display type: LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) - Liquid crystal displays. The very first displays used in mobile devices, and not only in phones. Their main feature is that they have very low power consumption, due to the inability to display color images. They do not emit light and therefore phones are upgraded with backlight lamps. Some phones had several different backlight colors based on the presence of different LEDs around the perimeter of the display. This extraordinary solution was used, for example, in Ericsson phone A3618. On this type of display, pixels are clearly visible, and such displays cannot boast of high resolution. In order to extend the life of such displays, they were made inverse, i.e. text and symbols were not displayed as filled pixels, but, on the contrary, inactive against the background of filled ones. This resulted in light text on a dark background. Currently, this type of display is used in the cheapest budget models (Nokia 1112) and as an external display in some clamshells (Samsung D830).

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) - Liquid crystal displays based on thin film transistors with an active matrix. For each pixel there are three transistors corresponding to three colors (RGB - red, green, blue). On this moment, these are the most common displays and have a number of advantages over other displays. They are characterized by minimal response time and rapid development - ever-increasing resolution and number of colors. These displays are most common in mid-range and higher phones. Working resolutions for them: 128x160, 132x176, 176x208, 176x220, 240x320 and others, less common. Examples: Nokia N73 (240x320, 262K colors), Sony Ericsson K750i (176x220, 262K colors), Samsung D900 (240x320, 262K colors). TFTs are very rarely used as external displays for clamshells.

CSTN (Color Super Twisted Nematic) - Color liquid crystal displays with a passive matrix. Each pixel of such a display consists of three combined pixels, which correspond to three colors (RGB). Some time ago, almost all phones with color displays were based on this type. And now the destiny of such displays is budget models. The main disadvantage of such displays is their slowness. The undoubted advantage of such displays is their cost, which is significantly lower than TFT. Based on simple logic, we can assume that in the future TFT will displace this type of display from the mobile device market. The color evolution of such displays is quite extensive: from 16 to 65536 colors. Examples: Motorola V177 (128x160, 65K colors), Sony Ericsson J100i (96x64, 65K colors), Nokia 2310 (96x68, 65K colors).

UFB (Ultra Fine and Bright) - Liquid crystal displays with increased brightness and contrast on a passive matrix. We can say that this is an intermediate option between CSTN and TFT. This type of display boasts lower power consumption compared to TFT. For the most part, such displays were used Samsung company in mid-range phones. This type displays are not widely used. Examples: Samsung C100/110 (128x128, 65k colors).

TN is one of the matrix types of TFT screens. Roughly speaking, TN are the simplest and cheapest TFT matrices. Viewing angles are the narrowest.
