The Fly brand (owned by the Meridian Group) began producing dual-SIM solutions back in 2007. They were originally part of the DS series ( Dual SIM), but over time they spread to other lines and now almost all Fly devices support two SIM cards.
The entertainment model Fly E190 Wi-Fi, which will be discussed below, was presented at the end of June and released in July. Its main features were: Wi-Fi support, large touchscreen, made using capacitive technology (unusual for Fly phones) and a metal body.

Design and construction:
Fly E190 Wi-Fi – typical touchscreen phone in monoblock form factor. It is slightly larger in size Apple iPhone 4 and much heavier. The dimensions of the device according to the passport are 116 x 62.5 x 11.6 mm, weight – 168 g. Rear end slightly rounded, and the front with rectangular corners. In general, it fits comfortably in the hand, but the weight, of course, bothers me.
On the front there is 3.5" touch screen with HVGA resolution (480 x 320 pixels). Below it is placed function key, having a convenient move. At the top there is the Fly logo, speaker and proximity sensor. There is a microphone on the bottom end, and a power off/lock button on the top. On the back there are holes for the speaker, a camera window and several logos. The left side is free of connectors and buttons, and the right side houses a universal microUSB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The location for the audio port was chosen poorly - you won’t be able to connect headphones and carry the phone in your pocket, since the plug will get in the way.
The E190 Wi-Fi case is made of matte plastic, and the battery compartment cover is metal. The device is assembled neatly, does not creak or play. Back cover Easy to remove from bottom to top. Hidden underneath accumulator battery capacity 1,400 mAh, card slot microSD memory(supports high-capacity cards up to 32 GB) and two SIM slots. The latter are located on top of each other, and removing the SIM card from the bottom slot is not very convenient.

Software:
Fly E190 Wi-Fi is not a smartphone and is based on a proprietary platform. Let's take a closer look at the software capabilities.
To unlock the screen after turning off the display, you need to press one of the keys and place your finger on the “Unlock” icon. Two seconds and the screen is active again. The user has access to one main screen and several auxiliary ones: album, (photos), favorites (favorite numbers), shortcuts (links to frequently used applications and functions), player, messages, latest calls and settings. You can switch between them by swiping right and left. Unnecessary screens and their location can be changed in the settings.
You can install widgets, applications, regular background pictures and live wallpapers on the home screen. There are enough widgets and applications for simple phone: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (tightly glued), clock, network status, calendar, browser, camera, music player, clock, volume, messenger, profiles, snowman (adds snowflakes to the screen) and sheep (just runs across the screen and has a virtual grass).
The line of indicators at the top displays: the reception signal of both SIM cards, wireless network icons, signal profile, blocking, time, battery level, missed calls, messages, etc.
Regardless of the open screen, four buttons are visible at the bottom - the desktop switch button, calls, messages and menu.

The menu itself can be presented in three options - standard, cascade and tornado. The last two variations seem like overindulgence to me, as they are inconvenient.
Standard programs allow you to listen to music and watch videos, edit photos, read books, watch videos on YouTube (via Opera Mobile), surf the web, view maps ( Google Maps), listen to FM radio (via wired headphones), take notes. There is a calculator, voice recorder, file manager. A weight and length converter is also present, but there are not very many measures in them. Additional programs are written to the Java menu.
There are two games – “Mosaic” (the hated “tags”) and “Magic Sushi” (from the “match three identical objects in a row” genre). I don't have the slightest desire to play both.
Fly E190 Wi-Fi offers two services – Flybuzz for messaging and Fly Store for purchasing various content (music, games, pictures, etc.). The phone has a Wi-Fi module and this function is even included in the name, but for some reason downloading games through wireless network You can’t – the service insists on checking your mobile network settings.
Camera:
The device uses a 3.2-megapixel camera without flash and autofocus. It takes photos at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and records videos at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Camera settings are standard: scene, self-timer, digital zoom, face detection, white balance, brightness, quality.

The phone uses SRS WOW HD technology. Judging by the demo track SRS 3D test music (the phone creates truly surround sound with a high presence effect), it is capable of a lot, although essentially it plays the role of a regular equalizer.
Usage experience:
When using two SIM cards, it is possible to leave only one SIM active, and you can also select the operating mode - Wi-Fi only, preferably GSM, preferably Wi-Fi. When you make a call or send a message, a menu appears to select the SIM card from which the action will be performed. The phone has one radio module built in and the cards work in standby mode. This means that during a conversation or web surfing through one SIM, the second one is unavailable - they will not be able to reach it. Pending incoming call both are active.
The device uses a battery with a capacity of 1,400 mAh. According to the manufacturer, it lasts for 6 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby time. During testing, the long operating time was, in general, confirmed - in a week and a half the device was charged only twice.

For six months of using the Fly E190 Wi-Fi phone, I felt its advantages over the Fly MC150 DS, Fly MC170 DS and DS160 already in my family. However, these push-button models have balanced and tested firmware.

Making profiles disappear
Everything worked well on the E190 when installed only SIM1 MTSEnergy and disabled SIM2 and without a card.
I put the second card in and turn on dual mode:

SMS messages automatically arrive with settings for SIM2, I happily install everything offered and see 3 profiles for SIM1 (previously installed) and 9 profiles for SIM2.
I turn off the phone and take out SIM2.
I turn on the phone and see that there are no profiles at all.
I turn off the phone and put SIM2 back in dual mode.
I turn on the phone and see that there are no profiles and each SIM is now unavailable in dual and selective mode.
I select FLIGHT MODE and turn off the phone.
We are trying to restore profiles
I install MTS-regionalniy in the SIM1 slot (the same operator, but a different tariff, and the Internet access service is already connected to it).
I turn on the phone.
I switch the SIM1 only mode - I see a working SIM card, and profiles are immediately automatically installed.
I'm rearranging this map MTS-regionalniy in SIM2.
I turn on the phone.
I switch the SIM2 only mode - I see a working SIM card, and profiles are immediately automatically installed.
I go to profiles and see a lot of profiles.
Moreover, both old ones from Kyivstar and new ones from MTS.
I delete all profiles for SIM2.
I go to received SMS and delete all SMS received for SIM2!
I turn on FLIGHT MODE and turn off the phone.
I take all the cards out of the phone.
I install the original SIM1 MTSEnergy and leave SIM2 without a card.
I turn on the phone and select the only SIM1 mode available to me - I again see a working SIM card, and again the profiles are automatically installed again.
I go to profiles and see a lot of duplicate profiles for SIM1 from MTS.
I leave only 1 copy.
There is no need to take it to a service center or reset the settings.
What profiles should there be on the phone?
Birthdays and calendar using MOBILedit! I couldn’t move it anywhere either.
If you struggle with exporting old contacts, and archive new ones in a timely manner by saving business cards *.vcf.
But I personally have not tried to do this.
Setting a melody for a specific contact: the contact must be entered into the phone’s memory (not the SIM card).
Enter contact editing mode - ringtone - select file - options - select file - select ringtone - options - save.
The number of custom melodies is unlimited.
When the phone is operating in USB storage mode, an incoming call will sound the melody from the firmware, and not the one set by the user.

The accelerometer works and you can print in landscape orientation, but you still have to turn the phone vertically to send.
AlbiteReader-2.0.12_samsung.jar and TequilaCat_Book_Reader_v.3.0.9.jar work great.
TequilaCat_Book_Reader_v.3.0.9.jar does not understand UTF-8, but the font in it is more convenient to configure and in the tooltip, different areas of the screen are responsible for different actions.
Office applications are definitely not for this device.
Reading limited-size PDFs allows MobilePDFRu.jar.
MiniExcel - allows you to create tables right on your phone, calculates perfectly, column width is adjustable, saves without question. However, it is not convenient to create a table with more than 5 columns by 18 rows - there is no paging and full support for the touchscreen. You will see and be able to edit only what fits on the screen.
It is impossible to open a table created on a computer - there is no compatibility, and still, a 3.5-inch screen is not enough to view a full-fledged table.
TextEditor_4 - allows you to create notes up to 300 characters.
Microsoft_Word - all versions found on the network open, but do not work, because... versions only for push-button telephones.
Although I purchased it in early November 2011 in Ukraine and my firmware has the Ukrainian language!
Maybe the Russians are of little interest to this, but since the firmware has the same name in different localizations, I inform you that it has been found glitch in supporting the Ukrainian language.

Do not try to connect using operator traffic accounting utilities - they will not see the modem from MTK.
To connect, edit your profile in Fly Phone Suite and be sure to put SECURE password in the modem settings.
It happens that a normal connection occurs even after the 5th try - check that the pages are opening in a sane browser, for example Chrome.

As I already noted in the description of address book synchronization, the problem of sending and receiving contacts is not in the Bluetooth device, but in the correctness of the data in the contact fields, from the point of view of the phone firmware.
BlueSoleil is an excellent program when there is no cable synchronization, for DS160, for example, or those who do not have editing on a PC. For example, Fly Phone Suite does not allow you to edit the contents of drives on the DS160, but BlueSoleil can do this in a certain mode and shows the overview more conveniently than the “you know what” OS.
But, if there are several phones in the family, this program adds a bunch of ports! Even if you turn off almost all the unused ones, you still get a lot!
And, by the way, BlueSoleil records all connections to ports via Fly Phone Suite.
There is no hassle at all with dialing via a modem via Bluetooth!
Choose the right port and don't call Singapore ☺.
For E190, similar to other models, just write the initialization line, otherwise the operator will simply ruin!
According to owner reviews, the E190 does not always work correctly with some headsets.
Advice: you need to try and look for one that works correctly.
Check the data transmission from the phone by connecting to the computer's Bluetooth to use the computer's speakers with the phone's player. If your integrated Bluetooth is not very high quality, try a USB device.

Fly E190, like Fly DS160, supports Chinese Java!
1. Download the archive of games in MRP format.
2. Connect the phone with installed card memory to the PC in storage mode, or you can use a card reader or Bluetooth.
3. Create a mythroad folder on the phone’s memory card (the mythroad folder or something similar should appear on its own after typing *#220807# on a flash drive! not on the phone!).
If the folder already exists, then skip step 3.
4. Copy all files and folders from the downloaded archive. There must be dsm_gm.mrp in English!!! If a message appears that the file(s) already exists, then click “replace”.
5. Disconnect the phone from the PC (insert the memory card into the phone if you used a card reader).
6. Disable SIM 1 (in the SIM card operation settings, select SIM 2 only mode or flight mode).
7. Dial *#220807# and wait - the menu appears, if it does not appear, press the “Green Tube”. -

If this option is not suitable, delete from e:\mythroad\mrp320x480\ all *.mrp except mopo.mrp and place all *.mrp found on the Internet in this folder.

Most applications access the Internet and you need to know exactly the remaining free or paid GPRS megabytes. (I don’t know about Wi-Fi for these applications.)
Applications install very quickly and they can all be found on the Java gadget or in "My Files" on the various drives on which they were installed.
If a message appears about “incorrect jad,” it means you just need to reset your Java settings and manually configure only the network connection profile. Any manipulations by craftsmen take this Java machine out of working condition.
No multitasking No, if you minimized the application, please return to it or exit.
If you listen to music, you can only access the Internet using the built-in Opera.
If you accept incoming call, the music will be silent for this time.
If you need to download a jar, but not install it, I advise you to use the internal download manager Opera 4.2 mod, at the same Internet tariff without using the wap profile. Because I couldn’t find the jar after downloading OperaMobile, and downloading it again every time was just stupid.
If there is a need to install several versions of one application or a similar one in firmware, change the name of the widget inside the archive.
On the desktop of E190 custom shortcuts, the name will be correctly displayed in no more than 9 characters.
Change the name of the jar to rar, go to the archive "name.rar\META-INF\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF", change the line (for example, for simultaneous use of Opera 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4):

change the name of rar to jar again, and after installation your program will not be replaced.
Check your Internet connection settings and programs before installing them on your phone - otherwise it will be expensive.
Find the sjboy program - this is a phone emulator on your computer.
There is no guarantee that a toy or program running on a computer will work correctly on a phone.
But, if your computer tries to send a paid SMS program, such as ideawidgets, you may think about whether to install such an application on your phone or not.
The first time I tried, I couldn’t set up games, chat or FTP on any of the Fly. And I didn't try again.
GoogleMaps built into the firmware work, but they eat up a lot of traffic and take up memory. As a joke - to see where you are - funny, but nothing more.
Sometimes I see my location practically on the next house, sometimes at a distance of “200 meters from the neighboring tower”.

There is a Photos gallery, which you point in the camera on C (phone) or E (memory card), and it is beautifully shown to you on one of the desktops or opens from ALBUM with a continuous canvas of thumbnails.
When viewing, the orientation sensor is triggered.
All other folders with pictures opened by the firmware file manager do not allow viewing in SKETCH mode. Only when you hover over each picture, a thumbnail appears at the top, and when you click it opens onto the screen. And only after full opening the orientation sensor is triggered.

When connecting to a computer in com-port mode, download MOBILedit! and establish a "cable connection".

But, it is also important for the card to have good speed - at least class 6, and periodically you need to defragment the computer, otherwise video recording may stop at the wrong moment.

There is a desktop - desktop settings, in which you need to specify the sequence and on/off. of these tables in SWING mode.
There can be black desktops with applications according to the number of applications, if there is 1 piece on 1 table.
Personally, for convenience, 4 gray and 4 black are enough for me ☺
