The application works in two modes: "only vector" or "combined", which uses both raster and vector graphics. The developers paid great attention not only to the functionality of the program, but also to its optimization. Supported formats include PSD, AI, JPG, TIFF, EXR, PDF, and SVG.

Between any objects in the project, you can form a link that opens up additional possibilities. Support for hot keys has been implemented, which significantly speeds up the work, besides, they are configured at the request of the user. Affinity Designer works in RGB and LAB color spaces. Like other similar editors, it uses a grid, but it offers much more extensive functionality. The editor is cross-platform. Moreover, it not only works in Windows, macOS and iOS, but also allows you to export the project to a universal file that you can work with on any platform without losing quality and features. Naturally, such a complex system cannot be free. For macOS and Windows, there are trial versions, and on the iPad, Affinity Designer is only available for purchase.

Krita

Krita is a free and open source graphics editor. source code. It is mainly designed to work with raster graphics, but there are also additional tools for vector projects. A version for tablets has been implemented, which makes the application more mobile and accessible. The following standards are available for choosing a color model: RGB, LAB, XYZ, CMYK and YCBCR with a depth of 8 to 32 bits.

In the program settings, you can set a limit on the memory used. This will reduce the performance of Krita, but it will also reduce the load on the computer itself. A system of customizable hot keys and imitation of real canvas materials are provided. The interface supports both Russian and Ukrainian with Belarusian languages, as well as many others.

LibreCAD

LibreCAD is a popular system computer-aided design, actively used not only by artists, but also by engineers. The project is based on the open source QCad engine. The considered solution is intended for two-dimensional design using vector graphics. Most often it is used to draw up plans, diagrams and drawings, but other uses are possible.

The main format is DXF (R12 or 200x) and export is available in SVG formats and PDF. But for the original application, there are fewer requirements: BMP, XPM, XBM, BMP, PNG, and PPM are supported. It will be difficult for novice users to work with the program due to overload and an abundance of functions. But this is simplified by the Russian-language interface and the presence of visual prompts.
