What is mi 5 and 6. Xiaomi Mi6 smartphone review – we don’t need such a flagship! Other parameters for comparison

March 17, 2018

This spring, Xiaomi will surely present its new flagship- Xiaomi Mi7. There are more and more rumors around the future phone, however, there is no official release date yet. Therefore, instead of pounding water in a mortar, we decided to compare the two latest flagships of the company: Xiaomi Mi5, released in April 2016, and announced exactly one year after it, the most current device of the top line today - Xiaomi Mi6.

So, Mi5 or Mi6? We have prepared an objective comparison of the two devices, compared the flagships in key parameters and did not miss the important details. This article will help you make the right choice.

Appearance, dimensions and ergonomics

The more recent Mi6 is slightly larger than its counterpart: 145.17 versus 144.55 mm in height, 70.5 versus 69.2 mm in width and 7.45 versus 7.25 mm in thickness. The weight difference is even more noticeable: Mi5 weighs 129 grams, while Mi6 weighs almost 170.

Of course, this affects the usability, especially since the Mi6 is dressed in glass: the back is tempered and effectively rounded to the side edges, and the front is protective with a 2.5D effect. The phone must be handled very carefully so as not to drop it from your hand. And the flagship is quite easily soiled and prone to scratches. Apparently, Xiaomi tried to compensate for this flaw by adding a silicone clip case to the kit.

Mi5 is also not without glass: the back and screen are covered with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and in the top modification the cover is completely ceramic (the same is with the premium version of Mi6). The frame of both models is aluminum, but if in Xiaomi Mi5 the side edges are even, then in Mi6 they are rounded. In general, the body of the Mi6 has been significantly improved and all transitions have been made smoother, the design turned out to be pleasant, streamlined.

Both devices are pleasant to hold in the palm of your hand, and Mi5 and Mi6 can be “used” with one hand. Xiaomi is in no hurry to make the flagship display larger: in both cases, we are dealing with a screen with a diagonal of 5.15 inches. But if in the case of Mi5 rather wide frames around the screen catch the eye, then in Mi6 they are already much thinner. Therefore, sales of the flagship device in white have increased.

In terms of the location of the elements on the case, the phones differ little:

  • Strictly in the center below the display there is a button with a fingerprint scanner inscribed in it. In Mi5, this key is narrow and oblong, while in Mi6 it is made in the shape of an oval. Last year's flagship reads the owner's finger with lightning speed and without error, but the Mi5 scanner is still not ideal. The button itself in Mi5 is tight, when pressed, there is a risk of damaging the case;
  • On the sides from the central key there are two touch buttons: one leads to main screen, the other - takes one step back. You can set the functions for these keys yourself;
  • On the right side the housing contains the power and volume buttons;
  • On the left- a slot for two SIM-cards. Both models support Nano-SIM cards and do not provide for the installation of a memory card. In Mi6, according to the official specification, this slot is splash-proof;
  • On the bottom end Mi5 see multimedia speaker, microphone and port USB Type-C. Mi6 has two speaker grilles in this place (one is decorative), otherwise everything is the same;
  • On the top end Xiaomi Mi5 has an infrared port, a second microphone and a 3.5 mm headphone interface. Everything is identical in Mi6, only the last element is missing. In the new flagship, they decided to abandon the mini jack port, but added an adapter to it from the USB connector in the kit. Therefore, keep in mind that you will not be able to charge Mi6 and listen to music on it with headphones at the same time. At least not without an additional accessory;
  • Above display the speaker, front camera eye, sensors, as well as the event indicator are habitually located (in Mi6 it is moved close to the right edge, this is the only important difference);
  • On the back panel Mi5, in the upper left corner is a miniature camera eye, and to the right of it is a double two-tone flash. In Mi6, this zone is reserved for the same elements, only the order of their arrangement is different: in the corner is a flash, and to the right of it are cameras. Yes, last year's model has two cameras on the back, however, more on that below.

With build quality, ergonomics and design, both models are all right. Dimensions are optimal and do not cause inconvenience. The appearance is pleasant, solid, but at the same time different: Mi6 is noticeably different from its predecessor, it took into account previous errors (wide bezels around the display and sharp edges) and corrected them. They also added a new body color - bright blue with golden accents.

Screen

The phones have the same 5.15-inch LCD displays made with IPS technology. The resolution is Full HD (1920x1080) and the pixel density is 428 ppi. The aspect ratio is 16:9. The screens of both models recognize up to ten touches simultaneously.

But there are still differences in the displays:

  • The protective glass on the Mi6 screen is made with a 2.5D effect, the Mi5 model cannot boast of this;
  • Last year's smartphone has a better oleophobic coating. The device flawlessly responds to every touch of the display;
  • The Mi6 has a wider range of screen brightness - from 1 to 600 nits. The minimum value is ideal for reading, and the maximum for working under the scorching sun;
  • Separate instances of Mi5 were unpleasantly surprised by the yellowish tint of the screen. Xiaomi took this into account, so Mi6 pleases with more natural color reproduction and a larger color gamut. The display emits minimal blue light that is harmful to the eyes.

But if you do not find fault with trifles, then the displays of both devices are good. Sufficient viewing angles, contrast, detail, brightness - neither Mi5 nor Mi6 deserves hard claims in this regard.

Hardware

On this point, there are, of course, more differences, because smartphones were born a year apart.

Xiaomi Mi5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset. The peak frequency in the basic version of the device is 1.8 GHz, while in the Pro and Prime versions, the processor operates at a maximum frequency of 2.15 GHz. The Adreno 530 adapter helps with graphics.

The flagship of 2016 went on sale in three versions at once:

  • 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM;
  • 3 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM;
  • 4 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM.

The flagship Mi6 received a Snapdragon 835 processor. It consists of two clusters with four cores each, and the ultimate clock frequency is 2.45 GHz. Adreno 540 is installed as a video accelerator.

The device is also available in three versions:

  • 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM;
  • 6 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM;
  • 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM.

Mi6 is better not only because of the number of gigabytes, cores and processor frequency. It also uses faster memory: this applies to both ROM (UFS 2.1 in Mi6 vs. UFS 2.0 in Mi5) and RAM (LPDDR4 in Mi6 vs. LPDDR3 in Mi5).

Benchmarks and performance in “combat” conditions

According to the results of synthetic tests, we fix the predicted superiority of Xiaomi Mi6:

  • He scored 180 thousand points in AnTuTu (versus 130 thousand points for Mi5);
  • 1939 points in the Single-core test from GeekBench (against 1712 for Mi5);
  • And 6522 points in the Multi-core test of the same benchmark (against 3935 for Mi5).

Mi6 launches applications noticeably faster - all thanks to the excess amount of RAM. The difference in the launch speed of heavy toys is almost twofold. Well, in the course of work, of course, no bugs, sharp fps drops, crashes and similar troubles were noticed. Mi6 was born with the most powerful hardware at that time and could compete with Samsung's Galaxy S8. And now it looks more than solid in any use case.

But the Mi5 has not become obsolete in two years. Of course, in the pursuit of cutting-edge performance, it makes sense to take a closer look at the “flagship killers”. But with a slightly simpler role, Mi5 will cope with a bang. Moreover, considering android updates and branded firmware MIUI up to date.

Offline work

Xiaomi Mi5 is equipped lithium-ion battery 3000 mAh capacity. Thanks to him, you can:

  • About 6 hours to surf the Internet;
  • Listen to music up to 20 hours;
  • Watch YouTube videos for about 6 hours;
  • A little more than 3 hours to load the device to the eyeballs.

The battery restores its charge quite quickly thanks to support for Quick Charge 3.0: in half an hour Mi5 is gaining about 54%.

The superiority of Mi6 over its predecessor is also felt in terms of autonomy: the fresh flagship has a 3350 mAh battery. Moreover, the battery here is lithium-polymer, not ion, like the Mi5.

A few numbers to illustrate:

  • You can play video on a smartphone for about 8.5 hours;
  • Intensive use at maximum display brightness will land Mi6 in 7 hours.

Xiaomi Mi6 also supports the technology fast charging. And in half an hour it restores the same 54-55% of the charge. From zero to one hundred percent, the device charges in 85 minutes.

And finally, a couple more tests for a more visual comparison of the two flagships:

  • In the 30-minute Epic Citadel test, Mi5 lost 11% of the charge, while Mi6 lost only 7% in the same test;
  • A 10-minute hack in World of Tanks takes 6% of the charge from the Mi5 and only 3% from its more progressive counterpart.

cameras

For the main camera of the Mi5, the company has chosen a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 sensor. Of course, here is “full stuffing”. At least as of April 2016.

An optical stabilization system along four axes, a good LED flash, phase detection autofocus, pleasing with high accuracy, interesting photo modes in HDR and “Panorama”.

A flagship is a flagship. Today, the main camera Mi5 does not look hopelessly outdated and in some conditions even gives odds to its follower in the face of Xiaomi Mi6. With enough light, photos are clear, sharp, with “correct” colors and white balance.

But comparing Mi6 and Mi5 in terms of photographic capabilities is probably not entirely correct. Mi6 has a numerical advantage: a dual main camera. It uses two 12-megapixel modules: one from Sony (IMX386) and the other from Samsung.

Both devices have approximately the same set of chips for photos and videos, shoot in the same modes and can record video in 4K at 30 fps. But the Mi6 is especially noteworthy for its amazing portrait mode, as well as a 2x optical zoom (although it only works in photo mode). In Mi5, the zoom is only digital.

Mi6 can blur the background impressively and take pictures in the “Macro” mode. If we compare the shots on both devices in detail, then it is easy to notice that the Mi6 has a more thorough work on noise suppression. In the previous flagship, the pictures are more natural. This is the advantage of Mi5. But where Mi6 is definitely better is in the number of captured details: you can forget about “stretched” photos, the Mi6 lens does not disfigure objects that fall on the edge of the picture due to a better lens.

Sound

The Mi6 sounds great on headphones, ironic though it may sound due to the lack of a 3.5mm port. In part, this is the merit of the processor. To play audio without a headset, stereo was provided: the sound is played immediately through both speakers.

With volume and sound quality, both devices are doing well. Extraneous noise is not noticed even at peak volume. The entire frequency range is well developed.

Outcome

The clear winner in our “battle” was Xiaomi Mi6. It’s better not even because it appeared a year later, which means it got a more powerful filling, an interesting camera and a nice exterior. But because Mi6 is a targeted work on the mistakes that the company made earlier as part of its flagship series.

But it's one thing - to objectively choose the best model for today, and quite another - to purchase a device for personal use. In this case, you can not look at the price tag. Now, when the Mi6 has noticeably fallen in price compared to its starting price, it is much more reasonable to purchase it. After all, it is obvious that there is no colossal difference between Mi5 and Mi6. This difference is not so striking as to pay $500 instead of $250. Now the difference in price, although it has remained approximately twofold, but the prices for Mi5 and Mi6 have fallen significantly. So, it is possible for absolutely reasonable money.

On April 27, 2018, the Chinese company introduced new smartphone Xiaomi Mi 6X with dual vertical camera and Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The novelty is the successor to Mi 5X. The phone is available in five color options, so both men and women can choose the perfect one for themselves. Introducing detailed overview Xiaomi Mi 6X, smartphone specifications, equipment, design, camera, performance and autonomy.

According to the main characteristics, Mi 6X resembles the budget version of Mi Mix 2s. Recall that the previous model MI 5X / Mi A1 entered the top best smartphones middle class. It is also expected that, by analogy with last year, the Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone will be released in 2018. The smartphone will become an analogue of Mi 6X, but will be released on Android program one.

Xiaomi Mi 6X review

Let's start the review of this phone with a complete set and appearance. The packaging design is quite minimalistic. If the Redmi series has bright red top cover, here we see the classic white box, which this time the Chinese company has made more attractive.

Now it's not just a white box with a small Mi logo in the center, as was the case with the Mi 5X. In the lower left corner, there is a bright “6X” inscription, and the orange logo is neatly located in the upper right corner. This box looks very attractive.

Equipment

Removing the top cover, the first thing we see is the Xiaomi slogan. The Mi 6X bundle is much richer than other phone models, such as the now popular Redmi 5 Plus.

In the kit, the user will find:

  • dense silicone case-pad (TPU Case);
  • instructions in Chinese (Manual);
  • USB Type-C cable;
  • original charger 5V / 2A (there is no 18W fast charging in the box), although according to the specification the device supports the technology (QC 3.0);
  • a special paper clip to remove the SIM card slot (Sim Ejector Pin);
  • audio adapter, i.e. adapter from Type-C to a standard 3.5 mm jack (Audio Adapter Type-C to 3.5 mm).

On the phone itself, factory films are glued on the front and back. On the front film is a brief specification of the device.

Design

Let's consider the phone from all sides in order to evaluate all the advantages or disadvantages of Xiaomi Mi 6X.

On the bottom panel you can find a microphone, loudspeaker and USB port type C.

On top are an IR sensor (IR Blaster) and a microphone for noise reduction in a smartphone.

On the left side is a hybrid slot for SIM cards, where you can put two SIM cards Nano-SIM. At the same time, unlike the Redmi 5 Plus slot, where, in addition to SIM cards, you can put one memory card, Mi 6X does not support microSD. No opportunity to expand internal memory phone, many users will immediately attribute to the minuses and disadvantages of this model.

Considering that Xiaomi Mi 6X is very thin, the thickness is only 7.3 millimeters. The camera of the device protrudes slightly. Therefore, immediately after purchase, it is recommended to use a protective case, at least the one that comes with the kit. This will help prevent accidental scratches. Compared to the Redmi Note 5, the Mi 6X's camera protrudes about 1mm more than the rear panel.

In general, the design of this smartphone uses all the most fashionable design chips that can be found in 2018. The thin all-metal body fits well in the hand, but will seem uncomfortable to users who have not dealt with phones of this size before. This inconvenience can be solved by buying protective cover which makes the device feel more comfortable in the hand.

Screen

Now let's take a closer look at the front panel. Unlike the black version, all other color options come with a white front panel. Some people like this design solution. Other users, on the contrary, consider it a disadvantage when you buy a golden Mi 6X, and the front is white instead of gold. The same minus was with Redmi 5 Plus. But this is a matter of taste, since from a design point of view - White color looks more elegant.

From the front, the novelty completely resembles the front full-screen panel of Redmi 5 Plus. Therefore, if you plan to buy Xiaomi Mi 6X when it appears in Russia, but doubt whether the screen will be convenient. Then you can go to any store and test the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus screen there. Since, according to their specifications, both displays have the same technical characteristics:

  • Display – 5.99-inch LCD IPS;
  • 92.6 cm 2 (~77.4% screen-to-body ratio);
  • resolution 1080 x 2160 pixels (Full HD+);
  • screen aspect ratio 18:9;
  • 403 ppi;
  • support for multiple touches (multi-touch).

Connection

Camera

Double Xiaomi camera Mi 6X is really a feature of this model. It is the camera and optical characteristics that users most often look at when choosing a new phone. Mi 6X can be added to .

The dual camera design has changed significantly compared to the Mi 5X. Now it is vertical instead of horizontal. This trend of 2018 appeared with the release of the iPhone X. Our favorite Chinese company has already managed to implement it in the camera,.

Optics specifications

The MI 6X camera uses the Sony IMX 486 and Sony IMX376 main sensor (remember the predecessor OV12A10 + OV13880). Consider in detail the specification of optics:

  • Main camera: 12 MP (f/1.8, aperture 1/2.9″, 1.25µm) + 20 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.8″, 1.0µm), phase detection autofocus , 2x optical zoom, LED flash.
  • Front camera: 20 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.8″, 1.0µm), 1080p, auto-HDR.

The characteristics of the optics make it possible to make nice photos with less noise in low light conditions. Comparing the quality of images with Mi 6, it is clear that the support for AI algorithms makes it possible to feel the difference. Sample photos are also good, like the 2017 Xiaomi flagship.

More detailed overview Camera Mi 6X will be posted in a separate article with examples of portrait shots and photos in low light.

autonomy

The device comes with a 3010 mAh non-removable battery. This battery capacity can also be called a disadvantage. Since, even Redmi 5 Plus has a 4000 mAh battery.

But, the developers sought to make the design of the new smartphone thinner. As a result, the Mi 6X is 0.8 millimeters thinner, and the battery is almost 1000 mAh smaller. But the weight of the device is now 168 grams versus 180 grams.

PCMark Battery Stress Test

Mi 6X battery life test showed that the phone can work 7 hours 4 minutes in active load mode (10 hours in medium load mode). The result of the test is 6814 points.

The indicator of autonomy is quite acceptable. When compared with the main competitors, it is worth considering that according to the test results, MIUI was named one of the the best systems in terms of energy consumption.

Recall that the kit comes with a 5V / 2A (5V / 2A) charger. Since Xiaomi Mi 6X supports, the appropriate charger was used for test charging.

WITH charger QC 3.0 we were able to charge the battery from 19% to 100% in 1 hour and 34 minutes. During the second test of Xiaomi Mi 6X, the phone was charged from 18% to 37% in 12 minutes. And was fully charged in 90 minutes.

Price

On this moment The novelty can only be bought in China. There are five color options to choose from: red, blue, gold, rose gold, black. Xiaomi Mi 6X price:

  • A budget option: 4 + 64 GB = 1599 RMB ($250).
  • Base variant 6 + 64 GB = 1,799 yuan ($282).
  • Top version 6 + 128 GB = 1999 yuan ($314).

Given the hype for this model, the prices on AliExpress are 20-30% higher. In Russia and Ukraine, it will be possible to buy only the global version of the smartphone in certified and official Mi Store stores. It is expected that it will be Xiaomi Mi A2.

conclusions

The smartphone is a worthy continuation of Mi 5X / Mi A1. For this price category, the buyer receives excellent equipment. This applies to: design, body, screen, processor, front and main cameras, which can impress anyone inexperienced with premium gadgets user.

Main competitors from other manufacturers: Huawei P20 Lite, Sony Xperia XA2 and also Motorola Moto x4.

Summing up the Xiaomi Mi 6X review, consider the main pros and cons.

Advantages:

  • pretty design,
  • quality screen,
  • good SD 660 processor (enough performance for most popular applications),
  • Android 8.1 and MIUI 9.5 out of the box
  • excellent camera (photo quality is comparable to Mi 6).

Flaws:

  • no NFC,
  • no 3.5mm jack
  • you can not expand the internal memory using a microSD memory card,
  • weak battery.

Dear readers, share your opinion about this smartphone. Did it live up to your expectations? Also, do not forget to leave reviews about Xiaomi Mi 6X in the comments after purchase. What did you like, what disadvantages did you find, would you recommend this model for purchase after a month of use, etc.

Just 7 months after entering the market Xiaomi smartphone Mi 5 company announced new version flagship - Xiaomi Mi 5S. And many wondered - is it worth paying a few thousand rubles more for a novelty, or are the phones not much different from one another? Today we will try to understand this issue and make a qualitative comparison of Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 5S.

Case and design

Both smartphones are radically different both in the material from which the body of the device is made, and appearance. As for the Mi 5, its body is made of glass panels, which are connected by a metal frame, which, of course, looks nice, but in reality is too impractical. But Xiaomi Mi 5S has a solid metal body with glass on the front panel, and also has the advantage of a touch home buttons with a built-in fingerprint scanner, which, however, has a slight delay due to the presence of protection against accidental touches. If we compare, then in this regard, the scanner on the mechanical button of the Mi 5 model will work faster. Both smartphones have an oleophobic coating and are offered in several colors.

Screen

Each of the models offers its users a 5.15″ Full HD display similar in brightness, size, resolution and contrast, however, the Mi5S model has added a function for recognizing the pressure on the screen - an analogue of Apple's 3D Touch. But judging by user reviews, to open an additional menu, you have to sharply press the screen - that is, the idea is interesting, but the implementation is weak.

CPU

Characteristic Xiaomi Mi 5 Xiaomi Mi 5S
Processor type Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Qualcomm Snapdragon 821
Kernels and Bitness Kryo (2x2.15 GHz + 2x1.6 GHz), 64x Kryo (2x2.15 GHz + 2x2.0 GHz)

Comparison of Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5 will not do without an important component - the assessment of the power of these smartphones. The Mi 5 device does not experience any problems in this regard - it works on the basis of the Snapdragon 820 chip, released at the beginning of last year and is currently one of the most successful solutions on the market. On this smartphone, you can play any games with highest settings graphics and don't worry about it slowing down. The shell itself also works perfectly and does not cause any difficulties in operation.

The Mi 5S model is developed on the basis of an even more modern sub-flagship Snapdragon 821 chip, which is an improved version of the processor of the previous Mi 5 model. Due to this, it is an order of magnitude faster than its predecessor, and therefore will drag for a long time latest news in the mobile gaming industry.

Memory (RAM and Flash)

In the Xiaomi models we compared, the upper limit of flash memory is 128 GB and 3/4 GB of RAM. Memory cards are not supported in both Mi 5S and its predecessor.

Camera

Xiaomi Mi 5 is equipped with a powerful Sony IMX298 sensor with f / 2.0 aperture, which captures pretty well both day and night. The phone has a 16 MP camera with excellent optical stabilization Images.

Mi 5S is much better in terms of sensor - the new IMX378 model is installed here. Its main camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels and can shoot Full HD video at 120 frames per second. Front cameras are practically the same here. The Mi 5S device and its predecessor received powerful selfie cameras of 4 megapixels each from Omnivision with a viewing angle of up to 80◦, f/2.0 aperture and the ability to record 1080p video.

Battery

Characteristic Xiaomi Mi5 Xiaomi Mi5s
Capacity 3000 mAh 3200 mAh

Behind offline work devices Xiaomi Mi5 vs Xiaomi Mi5 S meet non-removable batteries with a capacity of 3000 mAh and 3200 mAh, respectively. Both smartphones will last a whole day with active use without any problems, while each of them has a QC 3.0 fast charging function.

Dimensions and weight

Characteristic Xiaomi Mi5 Xiaomi Mi5s

Weight 129 gr 145 gr

Xiaomi Mi5 is 144.6mm long, 69.2mm wide and 7.3mm thick with a weight of 129 grams. For comparison, Xiaomi Mi5 S is slightly larger and heavier in size - 145.6 × 70.3 × 8.25 mm and weighs 145 grams.

Xiaomi Mi 6 (Xiaomi Mi 6) and stylish Xiaomi Mi 5C (Xiaomi Mi 5c).

April 19 was the presentation new Xiaomi Mi6. He instantly won the title of the flagship of 2017 and the status of the most popular smartphone from China. Isn't it too strong a statement? No, we are not unfounded. Only Xiaomi offers a premium phone with a Snapdragon 835 processor and a cool camera for just $360.

Since the previous flagship of the company was the Xiaomi Mi5 smartphone and its "big brother" Mi 5s, let's compare the new product with these models and see what improvements our favorite brand has offered us.

Screen

Changes practically did not touch the screen. In all three models it has:

  • the same size - 5.15 inches;
  • the same resolution - 1920x1080 pixels;
  • the same aspect ratio - 16:9;
  • the same pixel density - 428 ppi;
  • same brightness - up to 600 nits.

However, the Mi6 offers a slightly larger NTSC color coverage (94.4% instead of 94%). Eye care technology has appeared, which reduces harmful blue radiation and protects the eyes from overload.

Why doesn't Xiaomi offer Quad or Ultra HD technologies in the screen that support virtual reality? Because the company does not see prospects in this direction. And for normal use, Full HD is the best option. This resolution does not waste much battery and gives a good level of pixels.

Frame

The case of Xiaomi Mi5 is made of metal and tempered glass, xiaomi case Mi 5S in the basic version is made of metal and glass, and in the top version it is made of ceramics.

Basic xiaomi version Mi6 is made of stainless steel with tempered glass. Compared to previous versions, this alloy is more durable and looks more solid. And the premium version has a ceramic case and gold-plated edging! Gorgeous link.

Specifications

The most remarkable innovations we see in technical specifications. Xiaomi has created a real monster - iPhone killer and Samsung. Judge for yourself:

  1. If Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi 5S work on quad-core processors (Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821), then Mi6 received an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. Previous processors had 14nm technology, and the new one is built on a 10nm process technology. The clock frequency of the chipset has increased - from 2.15 GHz to 2.45 GHz.
  2. If the Adreno 530 video card was installed in previous flagships, then in Mi6 we see latest model graphics core - Adreno 540 with a frequency of 650 MHz.
  3. RAM increased to 6 GB LPDDR4X. For comparison: in Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi 5S, the amount of RAM was 3 or 4 GB.
  4. The amount of built-in memory has also increased. Different versions of the Mi5 and Mi 5S offered a 32, 64 or 128 GB drive. In Xiaomi Mi 6, the ROM capacity starts from 64 GB.
  5. The battery has increased to 3350 mAh (in Xiaomi Mi 5, the battery had a capacity of 3000 mAh, and in Xiaomi Mi 5s - 3200 mAh).

The AnTuTu test results also speak for themselves: the Mi 5 scores 135,000 points, the Mi 5S scores 147,000 points, and the Mi 6 a whopping 184,000 points.

Camera

Previous flagships have excellent cameras - the main one in Mi 5 is 16 megapixels, and the front camera is 4 ultrapixels. Sony IMX298 is responsible for image quality. The Mi 5S is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX378) and a 4-megapixel front camera.

But the Mi 6 smartphone offers something more - a 12 MP main dual camera that completely copies the unique camera of the iPhone 7 Plus. Dual camera consists of one wide-angle sensor (22mm, f/1.8 aperture) and one telephoto sensor (52mm, f/2.6 aperture). This combination guarantees us a double optical zoom and a tenfold digital zoom. 4-axis optics are used for image stabilization. Articles are already circulating on the Web comparing photos from Xiaomi Mi 6 and photos from iPhone 7 Plus, and Mi6 has better images. Let's see how it will actually be.

Other parameters for comparison

Due to the larger battery, the Mi6 is heavier - it weighs 168 grams in the basic version and 182 grams in the ceramic version. All three compared models work on Android 7.0 OS under MIUI shell 8, but Mi6 has proprietary custom modes with unique themes, colors, melodies, etc. The only detail that disappointed some fans is the lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack in the new flagship. But you should not be upset: the Chinese giant has already announced that it will release a line in the near future wireless headphones at super prices.

By the way, the price of Xiaomi Mi6 is also very attractive – they start at $363. In the world you will not find another such stylish and high-tech gadget at this price.
