Today Yandex.Browser has two news. The first beta version has been released and will be updated via its own beta channel. And also updated mobile version for Android and iOS. Let us briefly recap the essence of the changes.

Yandex.Browser beta

The beta version is installed on top of the stable version and uses its profile (like Chrome). The current build can be downloaded. Here's what's new in it:

Spell checking now uses its own extended dictionary, instead of the dictionary from the Chromium project.
Quick call is a feature that allows you to initiate a call on your phone by clicking on a number in the browser on your desktop.
The file downloader now allows you to restore interrupted downloads.
[Experiment] The "Back" button can now return to the application from which the browser was launched. Plus, links opened in new tabs and windows remember the navigation history of the parent tab.

Yandex's ideas often overlap with Google's new products. In order to keep up with the search giant, Yandex has to closely monitor its moves. Therefore, many services in both companies are often quite similar. The same applies to the browser. Yandex began planning its browser immediately after the official release Chrome browser from Google.

The most current modification

The latest version of Yandex Browser is the so-called “beta version”. Previously, it was called the “alpha version”. About where to download it is written in the next paragraph.

Bring your browser up to date

You can update your browser without additional software downloads. Just open the list of settings and click on “Update”. This item appears with the exit new version. For iOS and Android

The mobile version of the browser retains all the features inherent in the desktop versions for windwos: Touro mode, Tableau, gesture recognition.
